  1. Just discovered the Ozone Fury Well that's the Pepper of the favourite spot now! on looks alone, the Fury looks really cool. Anybody flown one?
  2. I'm wanting to get a smallish kite so that my girlfriend and maybe some other friends could have a go on. I don't want to let them near my Super 10 for fear of them breaking the spars and I think letting them have a go on the Blade would either scare **** out of them or seriously injure them! So far the likely candidates are: Peter Lynn Pepper PKD Buster Ozone Imp 05 Flexifoil Sting I reckon a 1.5-2.0m kite would be a perfect size. So far the Pepper is my favourite but I would love to hear any comments before I buy anything.
  3. Not lost them, but dug a trench with the side of my trousers and filled the inside of my pants with mud... well I think it was mud!!
  4. Just when I thought I was getting the hang of my new Blade 3 4.9 it goes and picks me up, chews me up and spits me out. I was having a pretty good day getting some nice skuds, then as I was skidding along I suddenly become airborne by around 3-4ft then come back down 12ft from where I took off. I still can't work out how I landed, but both knees, left shoulder, right hip and head were caked in grass & mud! thankfully knock to the head wasn't bad, but definitely getting a helmet before next flight. Unfortunately, the field I was flying on was recently sprinkled with sand and as I was dragged the top of my right bum cheek took a bit of a grazing! Man, that burned for a few days. To top it of, as I was packing up I noticed a bit of a draught. I'd managed to split my jeans right up the crotch! Had a rather awkward walk back to my house
  5. Holy ****!!!!!!! They didn't lie when they said she bites! Took her out in a light breeze 10-15mph, I couldn't believe the pull in such a light wind. Got a load of nice long... and fast!! scuds. Then when I wasn't paying attention, I was suddenly pulled from a standing position to pelting across the grass at high speed, then was lifted up off the ground for a few seconds then came clattering down again. Not sure how I landed but I got muddy knees, back, both shoulders and pants!!! I somehow managed to scrape a small trench with the side of my jeans as I was dragged along the ground I must have had a small handfull of earth down the inside of my trousers When I finally came to a stop, I got up and noticed that the complete side of my jacket had burst it's stiching. Well, thankfully it didn't hurt, and it's certainly made me more carefull. Brilliant fun, even if I did nacker my jacket. Ali
  6. Finally managed to get a sneaky peek when she left for work Holy s**t!!!!!! Unfolded the Blade and it took up nearly all my hallway, then I put my Super 10 on top to get an idea of the size! I can't believe the size difference, I used to think the Super 10 was massive Where about in the wind window is the pull the strongest? in the middle like the Super 10. I gather there is also quite a strong pull when it's above you as well? Ali.
  7. I've been flying a Flexi Super 10 for a few years now, and totally love getting pulled about in 30-35mph winds. But now I've just got myself a Blade 3 4.9 and I'm wondering just what to expect. (By the way, the Blade is actually for my Xmas and my girlfriend won't even let me open the rucksack to look at it... How cruel is that? ) I'm ****ting myself at the thought of getting hoisted up into the air How high do you reckon it would lift a 14 stone plumper into the air. And what would you recon would be the max wind speed to fly the kite. I know I'm pretty good with a super 10 in high winds but I've never flown a 4 line before so I'm going to take it easy. I was just wondering what wind speed you would start classing as being too dangerous? Roll on Xmas, I want my Blade... going to try and have a sneaky look at it when she's at work. She's crap at hiding things, so it shouldn't be too hard to find it. Oh! by the way, would kite killers be a good idea?
  8. Took my Super 10 out last weekend up near Buckie in winds over 28mph. I reckon I left bigger skid marks in my pants than on the playing field! I think this is the first time I've ever felt 'Fear' when flying a kite. I'm not sure if it was the fear of smashing an expensive kite into the ground or the fear of being dragged into a nearby rose bush! I flew the kite for about an hour or 2 then ached all over for the next couple of days. I've fancied going for a more powerfull Firebee or Blade, but they scare the **** out of me!
  9. Jesus it goes like a rocket, it makes all my other kite feel like their crawling! I wasn't sure what to expect as the rather well meaning but pain in the arse kid threw the kite up. As it glided slowly towards the ground, the wind caught it and nearly ripped my arms off! (my arms and shoulders have been aching now for the past couple of days!!) To me, this kite has some awesome power, I'm just trying to imagine the power of a Blade now Is it just me or is this kite very unforgiving if you take it too near the edge of the window? I can be flying it in a really good wind, but get too close to the edge and the kite flattens out and then starts sinking to the ground. I do like this kite... the power is brilliant fun and the sheer speed of it... but, it's not as agile as I was expecting. It's probably because I'm so used to flying deltas. I've noticed that just after a few flights, that I still want to get my trusty old delta into the air and do some major acrobatics.
