  1. I totally aggree. A bit of common sense on the lifeguards part would not go amiss.
  2. I recently got this kite and one day when i had to self land it i had a problem. The front lines are combined and the split into two tofaraway from the bar. the safety puts the kite onto full depower. there is an posibility to do something as one of the front lines is not attached and is free to run through a loop. has anyone seen this. any ideas. the new 08 manual is not out on the website yet.
  3. exactly what it says on the tin http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190198402626&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=009
  4. Its sad to see it go. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190198401484&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=009
  5. i think i used 3mm ply it doesnt have to be too thick. due to the amout of supports. but it will deterioate in time. if you want it to last longer you can use another layer and that will add strength. though for the utimate protection remeber to paint/varnish your ramp as the damp will eventualy ruin the ply
  6. here are some more pictures http://home.freeuk.com/gillbrendan/underside.jpg http://home.freeuk.com/gillbrendan/notop.jpg
  7. the thing with ramps is that you have to time it so your boosting just as you hit it. but not to send you kite back too far. it depends though on what trick your about to try. like flat 3s and stuff dont require the pop from the kite. just remeber to leanover your back wheels as you aproach good luck if you try it fisrt time dont go out powered right up or you regret it
  8. i made this in a hour or two. the most expensive part was the tow hook. when i get the to the beach the wheels fold up inside itself http://home.freeuk.com/gillbrendan/slider_rear.jpg http://home.freeuk.com/gillbrendan/slider_side.jpg
  9. dont dis the voodoo. its a great kite. i have had one of the first of the production line for years. never had a problem. flysurfer customer service is fantastic. i find it jumps good and goes up wind really well. 350 quid for a 14 is good value for money if it has been looked after. i will be selling my 10m soon cause i am getting the p3. if poss mate try and fly it before you buy it. i do aggree the backstall isnt good. unhooked isnt really an option unless your really powered up. but the choice is yours at the end of the day if you want to know more. send me a pm and i give you a call
  10. it depends on what board bag you have. in my bag if i want to take two boards i have to take both fins and straps off. besides like the guys said it only takes 5 minutes to put the board back together. just remeber to pack the screwdriver!
  11. now that is a good idea how did you do that?
  12. how often do you take apart your bearings and totaly clean them and re grease them. i think this will be interesting
  13. well i am coming back from my dissapointing holiday on wednesday (broke one of my fav kites) and i will be staying in woking with my parents. dont know how near that is but i wouldnt mind finding out where is good at kiting in the area. i find it very gusty in most places coming from guernsey. as for the bar and handels try a few first and see what you think. you can do all the same tricks with both and dont let anyone tell you otherwise as i have seen it done. but generally people usualy say they prefer the bar on the landboard. i started on the handels. some kites you can switch easily between bar and handels others are dedicated.
  14. you have to remeber tho the bigger the kite you get the slightly more wind you need to get it off the ground. my 10m voodoo wont think about leaving the ground until you have 10mph and then it a waste of time then, (oh my god teh amount of times i have got it out in hope but 10mph just doesnt cut it) it doesnt perform untill like 15 mph like the frenzy.
