Fat Bloke

Well that was a bit of a surprise....... Went to get the bike out of the shed this AM, had to move TL's bug to do this. Hhmm, I think there is a little breeze why not give it ago. So 10 mins later I'm in the field, the harness fits around me - hurrah! Get the 5m Frenzy out, panic for a minute coz can't remember a thing about setup, but alls Ok and it flies! Jump in the bug and realise the tyre pressures are a tad low...not a prob will stop it going too fast - I hope ....... Off we go, no drama as not much wind, and what there is, er, inconsistent:rolleyes: This is Ok, no feeling of impending death and the sun is out. gentle cruising, very pleasant. Decide to pottle around for half an hour. Wind starts to fill in abit, whoa - proper sideways turns now:) Stop chat to a guy (Tim?) who has an Air Evolution; very interesting. Half hours up, so start to work my way back to the subway but unfortunatley the winds picked up, not exactly kicking but plenty enough to chase, pass and put the fear of God up the little oiks on MX bikes:D . Stop and chat to a couple of newbies from out in forest who offer the use of a board, well it would've been rude to refuse;) not really enough wind(or big enough kite) but managed a little soulful cruising and slides/jumps to toeside. I'd completely forgotton how much boarding takes out of your legs:eek: so back in the bug. So I charge about the field, in mellow kind of way:cool: for another 15 mins, only I'm sarting to ache so check the time......4 hours have passed!!!!! Maybe there is something in this kiting lark:p PS - winds still up .......

A bump for a great piece of kit - even if it does try to kill us boarders ;-)

Hello all :-) Gonzo I'll have chat with TL about bowling - you two might have a good compitition. Not sure when, but do people fancy going to hockey again? FR,MC,BW possible try Guilford this time? (I played there last week and the rink/ice is so much better than Basingstoke). Gonzo - Lou (the Scotish one from holiday) won the Burns night slalom and a snow race (in Scotland!!!!!) last weekend.

Excellent! lets hope they put on a good show.....if not you can laugh at my skating after the match :-)

FR (and any bodyelse who fancies it) there is an elite league hockey match on Saturday evening in Basingstoke with skating to follow, TL and I will be going - anybody else ?

AV - I agree with Dan on the wheel builders, additionally there is a BMX shop in the bargate centre if it's a jump/vert wheel you,re after.

Gonzo - Legends (in the Marlands) is closing down. was in there this pm with Sam. 1/2 price MBS boards, including a pro 6 (kite specific) which is very small. might be good for Cheryl (has maxtrix/rockstars/T1's, etc). Also seemed to have spares - possible wheels.....also snowboards, boots and bindings.

Gonzo - we have Sam next week. If you chaps have a day off do you fancy a trip up to the freezer? Peeter - come on down! All are welcome :-)
