  1. how low do buggies go? like when you really really want to get some speed. very low I guess gives you the danger of catching a rock in your a$$ when running over one?
  2. If you don't have a quick release, is it possible to collapse the kite on purpose? I have done it a few times with my c-quad but I´m not sure how I did it. my c-quad sometimes falls out the sky when I suddenly pull one line hard and run downwind. this helped me the last time when I got very overpowered. but what about foils? can you collapse them?
  3. 30 or even more. much more space, better winds up there and in light wind 60m(just put your brake lines to your main lines). 60m is fun. a blade II 9.0 is flyable in zero wind with 60m. I fly in pretty crappy conditions so under 30 its not too good.
  4. but any idea what to do when (the kite is low and on the side) and starts to sink to the ground? turn away go get some wind for the kite? stop and run it up again? what?
  5. I agree:) but is my method any good? low and on my side.
  6. who said no powersliding? um, they are possible. did a few yesterday, the concrete was wet from rain. with big tires like mine they are possible.
  7. good idea!
  8. check out the Skandinavian Tyre and Rim Company. Starco. they have millions of wheels. I got mine from them http://www.zone.ee/popwar/andrease%20valmis%20bagi/ check the last two. http://www.starcoeurope.com is the place where to buy them. my wheels cost me 100$ for the 3 of them. metal rims. wheel diameter is 15 inches and they are 6 inches wide. no vibration or anything.
  9. Muttley very cool buggy ! nice! homemade? I don't get the riding downwind thingy. ok I can ride downwind, zigzag but I don't get much speed cos I have to turn very sharply. I got the best speeds yesterday on an old soviet airfield(just imagine the paradise, 2miles of concrete, 150feet wide) with my kite pretty low and directly on my side. this was downwind, but not directly downwind. the kite low on my side works well cos it doesn't have to have a strong pull to pull me. so an extra wide back axel helps a lot? hmm, thats not hard to make. now thats what happened to me yesterday a lot.
  10. um. the subject tells the story, I'm interested in High Speed buggying. been buggying for a few years. 2 or 3. I want to know how exactly do you ride so fast? what kind of moves do you do with your kite? figure 8's? just keep it still? keep the kite high? keep it low? do you go downwind? upwind? with the wind from your side? how?
  11. does the c-quad3.2 go for a 4m one? cos it sure pulls like one(and much more).
  12. OBE? wha?
  13. BUGGYBUGGYBUGGY!! at least thats what I think...
  14. kitemadgoth, where do you keep the cutter?
  15. usually when you really need to unhook yourself from the kite and remember that oh I got a quick release, it is already too late:p maybe when you get dragged around the beach that would work but in midair you don´t have time to pull somekind of a quick release strap or something like that.
  16. its not a problem when flying but when I sit in my buggy I dont find it too comfortable.
  17. a new one costs much $$$ and that I don´t have.
  18. I have a maui magic Innovator seat harness but its a windsurf one(they didn´t have my size kite harness).http://www.surfstore.co.uk/acatalog/Surf_Store_UK_Special_Offer_Harnesses_108.html and the hook always gets into my belly, cos the kite lifts it. and I dont know how to fight this. I thought maybe an extra line or strap would help, but I´m not sure I want to start cutting and sewing my harness. any ideas? someone have the same problem?
  19. Ooooooh crap!! s*** thats fast! but few inches from the ground and rolling that fast!! whoa. how were they measured? with the bike thingy?(don´t remember the name)
  20. It seems kinda useful to have in the pocket. I've been in situations where I'm pretty far from base camp and the wind changes so I can't get back. I was lucky cos my friends saw me struggling to get back and they drove a car there to pick me up.
  21. you know sometimes something happens and you can't buggy where you want to go(like back to your "base camp") and you need to walk with the kite in the air and take the buggy with you. I saw on a few videos people use a leash or a line to drag it behind you. I guess I should have one in my pocket in case I need it. but whats the line like? I guess it needs to be Y shaped. the two ends go to the footpegs and you hold the other end in your hand or something like that. but how do you keep the lines from tangling in the front wheel? I think my big tires would love to get a line tangled on them. anybody know what I'm talking about?
  22. came back from my second maiden ride. the wind was parallel to the beach so I had a one way ticket only. well I went zigzag downwind, kite went left I went right. kite went right I went left. you get the picture. It was fun. speed was ok but I was just concentrating on riding, not speed. my buggy is soo stable, did some slides and stuff, fun. so my buggy turned out to be a very good one.
  23. got back from my first test drive. ohh the wind was SOOO crappy. turbulent and stuff. the wind was coming from the mainland and I was buggying on a beach with some trees so the trees messed it up. the wind was from the wrong direction, so one way it was too downwind and the other way it was too upwind. I soaked my C-quad in the water a lot too. I don't know what was wrong with my kite, kept collapsing all the time. maybe it was just wet, don't know. maybe it was the turbulent wind. but it collapsed all the time. but the 30' I buggied were pretty nice, very stable buggy, went well on soft sand also. but I'll see if my luck is better tomorrow. then I could tell you more about my buggy. cheers!
  24. check out my buggy post. I'm pretty happy with my results and it wasn't too expensive. was a pretty big amount of work but it has payed off. I thank my dad for the welding and cutting and stuff, he's the best. I suggest you make it out of exhaust pipes too, you can buy them in any angle. I used only 45 degree bends. they are pretty cheap too.
  25. ok. Um I used already bent pipes for the frame. um. the wheels cost me under $100, from Starco.(scandinavian tyre and rim company). pretty cheap. the pipes were pretty cheap also, don't remembre the cost. add colors and all sorts of other finishing stuff to the cost and you get the final $$$. not too much, cheaper than a factory made one. um, it took me a lotta time. but thats only my fault. um, I bought the wheels like a year ago. oh and also my buggy can be taken apart. I have sideframes, downtube and back axel that can be taken apart. so it can fit into a pretty small car but I try to minimise the taking apart and stuff cos every time it scraches a lot of paint. any more questions?
