  1. Couple I made of my lad http://www.kiteatb.co.uk/_gallery/bens-album
  2. Broke two so far, one replace by the shop and waiting for one from Wind Designs. These are both off 03 bars, the one on the 04 bar is holding up at present.
  3. That web site is truly dreadful and what is that kid all about on the video clip lol. The picture of you on the left of the clip is just plain horrible and they even got your forum name wrong ! All I can say is it must be one hell of a board to make up for all that !
  4. With this in mind there is one thing that has not been mentioned and that is that you do have to be 'attached' to the kite (via the de-power line) for the de-power to work. Apart from requiring the purchase of a harness (more expense) it is a safety issue as you cant just 'let go'. That said the stability, predictablity and general good nature of these kites (yes, even the phantom) makes them (IMHO) certainly no more dangerous than a blade.
  5. Guess I'm the same a Sprogg, never owned a blade (but flown plenty), started with a big Frenzy when we out grew the littledevils. Soon found the the 9.5 Frenzy covered pretty much the whole range of non-depowerable kites we owned. We now have the 9m and 15m Phantoms (amonsts other things) but these two pretty cover any sort of wind we want to go out in. The only downside I find of any of the de-powerable kites is that in very low winds the effeciency loss is noticeable. The 15m will get going in about 7-8 MPH, Frenzy needed at least 10MPH. Less that this and the only thing I find that generates enough power to be any fun is a BIG blade but then who wants to kite in bugger all wind
  6. Phantoms are nice, had the 9m out in winds that where gusty upto 30mph at the weekend. Only problem was that when it went back down to the low to mid twenties we where just waiting for it to pick up again so we could have some more fun You should also consider the foils like the Ozone Frenzy and the Flysurfers. I've had both and wouldn't go back but on the plus side the foils are easier to handle if you fly on your own.

Hi Natz When I try it I'm afraid I usually fall off! I was just the camera man, the rider is my son (littledevil). He's getting fair better at this game than I am but I put that down to me spending most of the time setting up and taking down kites and him spending most of the time flying them lol. Cheers Ian & Ben

An example of it about 3/4s of the way through this if you want to see what it looks like ..... http://www.kiteatb.co.uk/_gallery/albums/bens-album/bensvideo.wmv
  9. Had this a couple of time. I was wondering if what happens is that the gust causes the kite to lift you into the air and then when the gust has past the kite decides to do an impersonation of a paraglider and starts flying forward with you now going backards. Just a thought .....
