If you are using DVDShrink and only want the main movie, you need to change the setting under preferences - to not split into 1gb VOB's and create a single file. Then use Super as oc1rob said.

So far it's great, super quiet my laptop is twice as loud. It's tiny too, about the size of a small book. When it's up and running for real, I will let you know speed etc. Elisa looks good as a player, but won't stream to other devices... bummer

Just got one of these - http://event.asus.com/eeepc/microsites/eeebox/en/ I want to use it for my tv recorder using Mythtv. I have that bit setup, but now need to find a nice bit of software that can stream films / music etc over the network to other devices laptop / iphone etc . Any one got any suggestions?

Went through this the other day when the gf downloaded some **** from limewire..... Cleaned up with Malwarebytes - http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and Counterspy - http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Home-Home-Office/Anti-Spyware/ Cleaned up no problem.

Nice bit of kit, but shame its dependant on itunes :-( So, how do you get videos onto it other than buy them from itunes store? I have some VOB files that I want to transfer, but they need to be converted etc, whats the best way to do it? Cheers Birdman

It's OK, Had it for about 2 months now. Not so happy with the film package tho as the free films are carp. The on demand content is good, and being able to watch progs that you forgot to record is handy. The only pain is that the hard disk never spins down :-( But I believe there is a firmware upgrade due out soon that fixes that.

Been with BT for years, no problems so far - touches wood. Just got BT Vision too, so will keep an eye on the bills. So far, very impressed. Like the fact your not held by contract, can cancel at any time.

As this is the BIG Ubuntu thread, can anyone tell me which are the best ways to funk up the desktop. I have just installed ubuntu on my lappy, and have a few special affects configured, but want a fancy dock and widgets now :-)

Did you know that Pistachio nuts can self combust? "Pistachio nuts, especially pistachio kernels, should not be stowed together with fibers/fibrous materials as oil-soaked fibers may promote self-heating/spontaneous combustion of the cargo. As a basic principle, a high oil content (especially in pistachio kernels) encourages the tendency to self-heating. Fat decomposition in pistachio nuts leads to the risk of self-heating and, ultimately, to a cargo fire.
