  1. Now that looks nasty, but look on the bright side salt has natural disinfectant action, so it shouldn't get infected. Get well soon
  2. Hi everyone, After a bit of help on getting kit buggy bits in Australia, Tom and I are planning a trip to Western Australia at the end of May, and so we can get the buggies within our baggage limit, they will be coming over wheel less, so we need to order two sets of rims and midi or BFL tyres. The plan is to order these before we leave so we can pick them up on arrival, not certain if there is anywhere in the Perth area we can get them from, if not I do have friends and family in the Perth area who could take delivery. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

I really like the Apex, it was my first depower foil, I got it really cheap because one of the seams was pulling apart, so I had to repair it, its not he nicest of repairs but it works. My only concern with it is I had the safety fail to operate on it once, pulled the top hat, but the pin didn't release the line, I was able to free it before things got too hairy, so I am always a bit wary flying it in big winds now. I was looking for a 7.5m but second hand in the UK they are like hen's teeth, so I went for the Ozone Access which is very common over here and is a excellent kite

Well as you will have your harness when we are over in May, you are welcome to have a go on my kites, I am only bringing depower foils, as an accident last year to my wrist stopped me flying handles Any way the plan is to bring the 8m Access and my new low wind engine the 12m Access, and if I can get the money together before he sells it Auto's 4m Access, otherwise I might consider the 5m Apex.

AH well that's quicker than me, but then I don't always have the GPS with me, so I think I have gone faster. Tom's out in the gales today trying to beat hi PB of over 66 MPH (106 KPH) , but looking at the live weather I think the wind has dropped, have to wait and see.
  6. HI Marty, Thanks for the reply, my post was a bit short as I hit submit instead of preview when I was trying to sort the picture of my Gobi Bug. Mark (Gum-Nuts) is quite active on the UK forum racekites.com where I normally hang out, there was a tread on places to buggy before you die, and Tom (RedSkyHorizon) fancied 80 mile beach, which is were this all started. We looked at coming to WA, going to NABEX 2012 or taking the Gobi bug back to the Gobi desert, we picked Western Australia, nice people, pleasant climate, and also I have family in Perth I would like to visit. I found a video of Tom on here, he's the mad guy doing 66 MPH (109kph) on out local beach
  7. Well Gum-Nuts so looking forward to getting over at the end of May, and ridding 80 Mile beach Also wanting to ride you local Salt lake, Lake Lefroy and some big dunes if we get time. Biggest issue seems to be getting a reasonable quote for shipping on the buggies. Looks like we will not be bringing the PTW Dominator 4 just too big, but I should have an original Parastorm Gobi (which was used in the first Gobi crossing) and possibly a Dust Devil. What other places would you guys recommend visiting for some buggy Fun?
