This was my first depower. I know i must of been mental. Well it came up on ebay and i had to have it. i got carried away. I will give a quick rundown on the bag etc, (boring i know but i feel it helps) Bag; easily the best of all the bags by absolutly miles, had 5 differnt makes now and this just kicks ass, its like a marines back pack. Kite; Probably the best material i have felt, feels really strong, but unlike other kites its soft and not crispy. feels slightly heavier than others so maybe this is why it feels stronger? but the quality of the lines and kite and bar shows why these kites arnt cheap. Now then first flight, set up unrolled, and unwound the lines. the advantage with this sort of kite, is the set up time, so quick, no inflation, no faffing just unwrapp and up you go. trimmer line off and this is done through the clam cleat system, in my view i really like it much better than material straps. I flew it in about 10mph first time, the power is really there with this thing, but the speed it turns at shocked me. much faster than i ever thought it would be for such a monster. This i find it important as you have to keep it moving it doesnt like siting still. Now then jumping, pretty simple just pull the bar in and up you pop. The float isnt as big as an arc i dont think and height is about the same, im sure with practice and powered up it wouldnt be hard to go big with this beast. Now after flying it in more conditions, i find the frenzy to really not handle gusts well at all. i read on other reviews it eats them up, well it doesnt. If it gusts and lulls the kite will loose all the air in it and then be like a big pile of washing in the sky, this is annoying for 2 reasons, either it will sort itself out and boost you in the power zone which will spank you or it will tangle up and land resulting in unhooking and sorting it out. i found this very annoying so if your going to fly a frenzy inland dont say i didnt warn you it can irritate the hell out of you. If boarding on beaches in a nice clean wind i doubt theres a better kite, for ease of use, setting up time, and behaviour. great if you fly solo by the way due to being able to set up and fly all on your own no probs.whereas arcs lei etc need a helper really. The other thing i should mention is the safety. the red top hat safety is a favourite of mine. i think its great. you can grab it so easily even when something happens and you panic. it instantly kills the power completly and i think this system is great. So would i say go and buy one????? Well if your A) a solo flyer looking for quick set up times C) want predicability with safety but also go big with jumps But i really would steer away if you want to fly inland in gusty conditions. i just find its frustrating with the luffing it seems to spend more time on the floor in a bundle than flying. maybe its the way i fly but i just cant get on with it inland which is a real shame because everything other than that is perfect, and it is an awesome piece of equipment. i hope this helps if your struggling with what to get, anything ive missed plz ask thanks alot By : pug306moddy

After alot of carefull deliberation i decided to buy a dakine fusion seat harness! I had ordered this at the same time as my 14m frenzy. The reason i decided to go for a seat harness over a waist harness was due to the fact that, A) i liked the idea of the power coming from lower down as this gave me the idea it would be safer and have more controll than having power coming from my waist upwards I had read reviews saying waist harness can ride up and this is the last thing i wanted to be messing with while i was flying. I chose the dakine fusion as it had been suggested by airboss world, because it has alot of support. Im a 34-36 waist and the XL is comfortable. i would say it fits perfectly for this size rider. The harness isnt the easiest to walk around in as it has so much padding and is rigid for support, i dont mind this so much because i like the safety, and also being larger myself i wont be doing big freestyle moves like some can, so its perfect for me, however if i was smaller and lighter and wanted more movement i would try a lighter padded version or a waist harness. Build quality is excellent, well put together and durable, its an expensive item but will more than likely outlast other cheaper makes. i can hold down the big frenzy comfortably with this harness, if anyone is in a similar position to me looking for a harness for there new depower, then i would recommend the fusion!!! however do take into account it can be restrictive but if this doesnt matter then i doubt there a more comfortable harness on the market. pm me if theres anything you would like to know, thanks! Hello, I would just like to start my review by saying if your reading this then like I was at the start of summer your looking to buy a kite and dont know which one to get. Well after reading alot of reviews on here, and with my limited budget (under £200) I decided to go for the beamer III 5.0m. The reasons I opted for this kite were, it didn't seem overly expensive, good reviews, and after speaking to the man at The kite shop he advised it would be a good kite to get for my experience and also what I wanted to get out of kite flying. My previous kiting has been Flexifoil stacker 6 and I had two of these stacked together, I got all I could out of them and was looking for something more challenging. Having seen big traction kites on the beach I felt I had to have one! Firstly quality of the kite; well I was suitably impressed by the build quality the kites material feels strong and has already taken a beating and still looks like new, the lines and handles also are very good, they seem just the same quality as the flexifoil stuff but obviously alot cheaper. The bag I have to admit isnt the greatest as other people have stated but it doesnt really matter when all said and done. Flying.... Really easy to set up after watching dvd and reading instructions, after 10mins was up and away. I have to say compared to flying 2 line kites its very different as the power is always there, they are so much stronger and the pull is just a differnt level altogether. I think the kite moves nice and quickly in the air and I havnt had any trouble with luffing at all unless the wind is below 5mph. I'm 6ft4 and 15stone and go to the gym 4times a week and I have to say I never thought I would get a workout from a kite, but after 15mins in a good wind you are exhausted, out of breath and arms and shoulders are hurting. the power these kites can generate is immense. I find the beamer provides alot of pull, certainly more so than lift. I can get about 4ft jumps out of it but about 30ft scudds so it certainly pulls more than it does lift. Which I think is a good thing if this is your first traction kite as you dont want to float away into the distance. Overall I think this kite would suit a large variety of kiters, from traction kiting newbies, to advanced kiters wanting a new kite to add to their quiver that isnt going to break the bank but also offer the performance they need. I dont think anyone would be dissapointed with getting one of the HQ beamer III's so im going to give it a 9/10.
