  1. Well first flight today and mixed results. Nothing broken so thats a good start. The beach I chose had too much protection from the S/W winds so the wind was a bit inconsistant and the kite stalled and fell out of the sky a couple of times. Found myself having to move backwards to keep the lines tight, maybe pilot error . Also too much seaweed in the sand which got caught in the the lines a couple of times, not to mention the idiots with dogs on a no dog beach. Really need to learn how to relaunch after crashing, the constant running up and down the beach to reset the kite is a real workout. All in all an enjoyable first day, try again tomorrow at a different beach if winds are up. Thanks for your input guys. CJ
  2. Hi spotter. I'm on the NSW Central Coast near Wyong. Will add this to my profile and signature. CJ
  3. Hi nigel. Thanks for your input and no way have I written you guys off. As a noob I value and appreciate any information I can get from experienced kiters. I'm a member of a couple of other non kiting forums (cycling and archery) and have learnt so much from those with more experience than I. Can't wait for the kite to arrive and hopefully it will last more than a couple of flights before I break anything CJ
  4. Thanks for taking the time to reply wolfie. After talking to BrisKites I ordered the Premier Vision. TBH it's a bit dissappointing the lack of responses I received from this forum, however I will continue to monitor and learn from you guys. Cheers CJ
  5. Hi all from CJ. First poster here so go easy on me as I know nothing about kiting. Would like to have a go at sports / stunt kiting but have no idea what kite would be best to start. Obviously need something that is suitable for learning but don't want to have to upgrade 5 minutes after starting out so I'm after something exciting enough to keep me interested past learning the basics. Also needs to be relatively cheap, rather crash a cheap kite. One shop suggested a Windspeed Ikon Sports Kite, at $50 is around my budget. Iv'e also researched online (Leading Edge and BrisKites) but there is so many beginners kites and I have no idea. I live near the coast so can start out on the beach while learning, but have a few sports fields near my house also. Any advise and recommendations would be great. Thanks, CJ
