If you have a north bar you should be very careful about the grey depower line breaking.
You might think this is nothing new, it has had this problem for 5 year or more.
I have been riding north kites since 05 and know these will break, so have changed them on a regular basis.
This time the line was only 2 months old and had only just started to show signs of wear.
I was out today it was blowing 25 to 30 mph not super windy but good enough for a 9m.
I had just looped the kite and was coming down from around 30ft, as i pulled hard on the front hand to landing the depower line broke.
If this had happened mid kite loop i would have been in trouble as it was only a foot or so deep.
All this is avoidable if north would stop making bars that cut through the depower line.
The section the line runs though especially the 2010 bar, { the one I'm using} it wears to a razor sharp edge and cut the line.
They should have a look a a slingshot bar or one of the other 5 line setups to see how this can be avoided.
The bar cost the earth so you should expect there to be some quality in it's design.
So far in one year i have replaced 4 depower lines. I won't even go into how much of a pain in the ass it is changing one.
That's another £80 on top of one of the most expensive bars on the market.
Has any one else had a bad accident or near miss due to this problem?
