  1. I'm wanting to start using a harness and strop with my fixed bridles on handles so my sessions aren't limited by my arms giving up. Any general advice apart from getting used to unhooking when in trouble before taking it out in any serious wind. Also as a safety system goes I'd like to ditch the kite killers so I can let go of one handle when going toeside etc. so was thinking of tying some rope between the brake loops and attaching a leash to this rope, with the other end on the harness - any reason why this won't work, or a better way to do it? Cheers.
  2. Cheers for the advice. Never paid much attention to pressures before so just wanted a good starting point before fiddling. Tyre walls say 60 p.s.i. which seems very high, so might start a bit lower and see how it goes. Ps. I've got rockstar hubs.
  3. Looking for some advice on what landboard tyre pressure should be. Guessing it depends on weight, surface, personal preference etc. but what's a good starting point before I start tweaking? I'm about 75kg, ride on grass and sand. Cheers
  4. Pm'd about the harness
  5. I'm going to be in Pembroke in a couple of weekends time. I imagine there are some nice empty beaches - anyone know of any to recommend? Cheers
  6. Hi everyone, As you can probably tell from the title I'm looking for some help choosing a new kite. I've been static flying for a few months on a 3m Beamer III and have recently picked up a cheap second hand landboard. I'm about 75kg and feeling a bit underpowered most days so am looking for something with more grunt. I'm thinking of going to a depower as I fly inland quite a bit and the depower should be better in gusts (is this right?). I'd also like to transition to kitesurfing at some point so getting an inflatable now should save me another kite purchase in the future I'm thinking, as well as getting in some practice with the right sort of kite. Firstly some advice on size please, I'm aware a depower gives less pull for the size compared to a fixed bridle, how much so, what would for example a 5m fixed bridle be equivalent to depower? And some advice for kite please, would like something that is available second hand for less than £300 (cheaper the better). Priorities are safety and how it handles gusts. Ability to self launch and land would also be good. Thanks very much for reading, any advice appreciated.
  7. Hi, I may be interested. As I'm new to the forum and this is my first post I don't think I can pm, can you pm me? Cheers
