  1. Hi Ady, We went there on Saturday. Please were playing football on the field next to the motorway. We had no problems. I'm going to find out with the council what the score is, because what happened to you is not on. Maybe they were losing the match and he was pissed off ;o). I was waiting for someone to come over and ask us to stop, but I'm sure they have no right if they are on a completely different field. It's a "sports" ground not a "Football ground".
  2. There's two fields there. (not the one across the road it's tiny) You have one with 3 footy pitches and the one behind closer to the motorway. Which one were you on at the time?
  3. Hi Ady, Were they playing football at the time? I thought this was common land just like Coldhams common. That means he has no right to throw you off. We go there all the time, but if they are playing football we go else where.
  4. This is just it. Andy has it right. If Doug is happy for us to use his field, then he doesn’t have to do anything. We organise between us our own club, which are very simple to start. This means sorting out our own amenities i.e. toilets. We organise collecting the money and paying Doug monthly. Might be worth talking to the boys from Essex Kite Park and how they set there’s up. All just a thought fella’s .
  5. Why not set up a club for example "Lode Powerkite club". Set a monthly/seasonal membership like "time for tea" said is a great idea. It looks to me by reading the post over the last 6 months, there has been alot of interest with local kiters (me being one of them) for there to possibly be a small club which would generate enough money to cover costs of toilets. I'm a little naive to it as I never went last year so don't know if he has other costs.
  6. Did any of you lot head down to Old Hunstanton yesterday. Saw some people in the distance flying up and down in buggies. I managed to take a big chunk out of my shin when my board sank in a bit of wet sand and spun round. Think i might start wearing shin pads.
  7. Hopefully the sleet will stay away. Got to get out somewhere before I exploded.
  8. Heading up to Old Hunstanton this Saturday with a couple of friends. Should be lovely wind with and no people about.

Hello, Me and a friend are going to old hunstanton on Saturday. Does it get busy down there this time of year with Kiters or is everyone hiding from the cold. Cheers
  10. I just board down at Cambourne, but I meet a guy who turned up in a buggy a start flying up and down the fields. They have put more goal posts in for the winter/football season but if people are playing you just go down to the next field. Girton wreck is alright sometime as well, but again can get gusty.
  11. Uncle, Did you go to the fields next to the A428 or the one at the back near Caxton. It's the one next to the A428 that we use. Greater Cambourne
  12. Hi Uncle, I had a pretty good summer down there mate. Was there most evenings after work, well when it was windy. My mate did fuck his ancle up with a bad gust of wind down there though. Pretty gutted I didn't hear about Lode sooner or we would have joined you all there. Most other times we went out kiting to Port Habour or Hunstanton.
  13. Hi fellas, Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've been kiting in Cambridge for a while now with friend and thought i'd check google to see if there were anymore likeminded people and i found you lot. I'm based in Chesterton but we mostly kite in Cambourne and Girton. We've been down Coldhams a couple of times but didn't like the wind much. It's a shame we didn't see any of you lot down there at the time. We heard about the lode site at the end of the summer but didn't get round to contacting anyone. Would be good to meet some of you down coldhams or you guys should check out the fields in Cambourne if you haven't already. Cheers.
  14. Hi fellas, I'm new to this site and just wanted to say hello. Never really do the forum thing but thought i'd have a look on google to see if there were any other like minded poeple in Cambridge and found you lot. I live in Chesterton and me and few mate's go Kiting in Cambourne, Girton or the coast. Only been down Coldham's once or twice, so never had chance to see anyone else. Would be good to meet more likeminded people. Cheers
