    New kite.

Was going for the Venom 2 - Don't know where the charger came from - Just looking for a good step up kite to get my size around at a cruise with maybe a few jumps and tricks to follow. You chaps may have convinced me about second hand though. Don't know if my patience is that good though. Britain's summer only lasts so long... Will keep looking.

Roirizla, Do you have regular time slots your there (gunnersbry Park) or is it as and when. Would prefer the trip in from Slough to be fruitful. Griff.

yep, will be my first depower. I can't find anywhere to try before I buy. Bit nervous about picking up a dud if I go second hand. All the knowledge your passing is helping.

yep, reckon I'll buy new. Captain Caveman, what do you mean by "kite only if your talking a charger"? What's the upgrade form the venom 2 then?

    New kite.

I reckon, after much deliberation and research, that to get my vast bulk around that I'm going to buy a Venom 2. Been looking through all the old threads on here and am just wondering where you all buy your kites from? I see threads saying £300-£400. I am finding deals for around £750-£850. For 16m kite, bar and harness. Does this sound reasonable or are there some tricks I don't know about. Have just been looking at sites bought up on the common search engines. Any suggestions? Griff.
  8. thanks for your help there Jablonski. Often all I need is a starting point. Loads more sites and ares coming to the fore now. Cheers.
  9. Can any one tell if there are any good landboarding sites in the north of Britian? Especially in either the lake district or North west Scotland? I want to go boarding all holiday, the missus wants to walk the hills. Do these two pastimes meet anywhere?? Griff.
  10. Nice one, Thanks to all for the feed back. Plenty of suggestions for me to look into there. I fear that my lack of experience is about to show. Is going from a 3.3m kite to the likes of a 12m - 16m kite quite a leap? Or is going for much lighter winds the answer? Is Arc a trade name or is it the shape, or both. I reckon looking into different types of kite to buy has opened more cans of worms than I have answers, so i'll stop here...for the time being. Plummet, I do have to look for stronger winds and even then turning more than 25 deg from the wind I just stop. The stronger the better. Any one out there near to Berkshire want to let me have a look see at a bigger kite? Go on, please....
  11. Am going Nucking futs trying to decide which kite I want. I enjoy my landboarding, but my sting 3.3 will only pull my vast bulk ( 20 stone ) in a straight line. I am now wanting to head off at angles to the wind. Lots of kites are offered up in this forum, but it's hard to know which one suits a big chap on a landboard best. I reckon I'd best be described as a cruiser, but a trick or two should never be out of the question. Any suggestions from the more experienced kiters out there? Anyone in the Berkshire area that could show the bigger kites and how they handle? Think I'm heading towards a Blade 6.5m..... Cheers, Griff.
  12. .......is what I am currently flying. Love it. I am a learner though and want to get moving. So, I bought myself a board and can get going, shaky though it be, downwind only and in a strong wind. I would like to be a bit more steady so I can get the hang of the upwind bit. It's only coming in fits and bursts at the moment with the gusts. Anyone know how I'm going to achieve a steadier ride. I reckon a bigger kite, but this might hurt more than it works. I am a bigger bloke weighing in around 19 1/2 stone. So don't know whether or not it's my technique or the kit I'm using. At that point where experience from others will work better thanfile:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/Griff/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg head banging. G'day to all. Didn't realise there were that many keen kiters ou there. Griff.
