  1. I think Highlander UK is right when it comes to rough camping (as opposed to sleeping in a tin tent), Scottish access laws are quite clear... if it's not fenced off there's not much the land owner can do about you being there (i.e. if your not causing any real damage by being there and you don't stay too long the police won't get involved)... I agree with paying something to provide parking or other facilities... however I don't agree with paying £10 per night to a random crofter to stay on a scrap of land nowhere near their house that's not being used for anything other than rough grazing their token sheep so they can collect subsidy! I would happily pay a one off £10 or £20 per trip towards a common fund that provides places to stop for a night or two that hopefully after a while they would collect enough cash to start providing more facilities which in turn could justify charging a bit more. Whenever we go over we always camp at Gott bay in front of the Lodge... we go into the lodge and spent a considerable amount of money on beer and food plus where we camp is hardly visible to any private dwellings (just the Lodge who lets be honest would rather we were there than not!!)... People are harping on about us not contributing to the whole community... to be honest, after a visit to Barra last summer Tiree has way better facilities than Barra has mainly i'm sure due to the shear amount of summer visitors! An example would be the Coop... this is a great shop (on Tiree) where as on Barra it's unbelievably crap!!! Also, I work for a large national Civil Engineering firm and we have just finished installing a multi million pound public drinking water scheme which would never have been built if it weren't for the deluge of visitors in the Summer!! Also... as most of the areas that people wild camp tend to use specific areas (talking about kiters only) then it'll only be a select few land owners/tenants that will benefit anyway and not the community as a whole from us being there! I reckon Tiree will only have it's self to blame if they scare off everyone with high and unreasonable charges... it'll only be a matter of time before the shops and bars start closing and the ferries become less frequent!
  2. Yep... they were sold to me.... awesome bindings!!!
  3. Your in Dorset judging by your forum location I would agree with Highlander UK, I was in Gott bay (Tiree) on the same trip as him and his Light was working fine in low winds.... I had a 9m light last year and it was also a great kite and worked very well in low as well as high winds (I think the relatively light weight due to less struts that makes the difference)... Anyway, I regreted selling that kite so much I went out and got another Instinct after wasting my time with another kite!!! Whoever get's this kite won't be dissapointed!!! Good luck with the sale Toby

  9. Sorry Jelte... never saw your posts (think they must have been on hold for a while before being upped!!! The posts weren't there when I bumped the thread earlier today!)... The price is in £ (UK Pounds)... I would be happy with £325 for the kite but assuming your in Holland postage could be quite expensive! Send me a PM and I'll send you my email address and we can talk about it.
