  1. better today, too windy for my 5m (personally had trouble staying on the floor haha) so played with the 3m. Had more luck today, didnt get too far upwind but managed to stay in one sort of area going back and forth and sliding across the grass on my ass! Think I got about 1 inch of air with the board too haha. Starting to see the theory of going upwind and managed it a little bit, was very gusty today (inland) which made it a bit unpredictable but improved a bit none the less.. and fell off lots.. oww..
  2. Hi thanks for advice.. pumped my tyres up, they were completely flat before haha. Much better now. Went out for a couple of hours this evening, not windy enough for the 3m so got 5m out and had a bit more luck. Spent quite a while getting tangled and kite kept falling outta the sky whilst trying to go upwind.. I did manage it once for a bit but had to stop before I hit a tree lol. Getting better and more confident and going down wind and slightly across but still doing that walk of shame (which sucks) Still considering going depower asap, saw this on ebay and heard someone reccomend it a while back, would it make a good first depower for a relative noob? and what sort of price would it fetch roughly? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OZONE-FRENZY-05-10M_W0QQitemZ260405546176QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_SportingGoods_Kites_Kitesurfing_CA?hash=item260405546176&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A4|65%3A10|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A200
  3. Got a MBS Core 16, the tyres seem a little flat but no idea what pressure they should be, can't find any info in the owners manual so thought I'd better ask here! Also, any tips for learning to ride upwind? hoping to get out tomorow for a bit of practice!!
  4. Hi think you've already chosen to, but I was about to say, I am in same position as you sort of.. I've just bought a MBS Core board off ebay with pads and helmet for £120 delivered.. I've been boarding with a 5m HQ Beamer and a 3M HQ beamer.. personally find the 5m a lot easier to board with. BUT seeing as you want to kite board you might as well just learn on a depower.. that's what I'm going to do, not much point learning on handles just to progress to depower... as long as you know how to fly basics you'll be okay (is what I was told lol) not sure what I'm going to get yet but was reccomended Ozone Frenzy
  5. Pictures?
  6. I did consider getting a LEI but don't you really need someone to help launch and land them? I don't really have any kiting friends at the minute... I've only been out with a friend who has a 3m HQ Beamer for static flying.
  7. I'm thinking of getting a depower kite, haven't been kiting on handles long but still considering going depower within the next month or so as I eventuallly want to get into kitesurfing so I'm always going to need a depower really.. unless it's a really bad idea to go depower so soon? Can't see why though? What second hand kite would be good for a beginner? Will be looking at around £150-£200 RTF if possible. Currently fly a 5M HQ Beamer III on handles. I was originally about to buy a HQ control bar for my beamer, but wondering if I should just forget the bar and get a depower...
  8. Board arrived yesterday, went out today in the strongest winds I've currently flown in. Was much nicer in slightly higher wind!! got some air flying static and starting to get the hang of landboarding. Got up some speed!! good fun. had one crash got pulled over front of board landed on my side then spun onto back and dragged along for a while hahaha. How the hell do you go back up-wind though?? I start off at one side, get to the other then have to drag the kite and board back, im sure it must be possible to board back?? I got a lot of practice to do haha.. and I need a depower/bar kite, ow my arms!
  9. Hope you're not implying it'll take you a year to fix it tempted myself, want to get into kitesurfing soon and I'll no doubt break it so a warranty would be handy hahaha.
  10. So I should steer clear of the leash then? Typically metcheck says there's no wind this week! damn it! Might have to push myself off Portsdown Hill instead and see where I end up haha.
  11. yeah sure I'll try and weigh it for you.. the ebay ad says 15.2lbs though if thats any help. I'll double check when I receive it Can't wait to fall off it
  12. Hmm it appears I've just bought it for £101.99 + postage.. hope I don't regret it hehe. Should be okay for a first time board though I guess! And as you say I can always get a new deck when I progress onto jumps etc.
  13. Got my eyes on this ebay auction.. is this a good board for a first time kiteboarder? And what sort of £££ is it worth approximately? Don't really want to spend more than £100 to be honest but it does come with some pads and stuff as well as the board. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=180345158429
  14. How much are they?
  15. price and pic?
