Although I'm not familiar with the WW kitesurd scene I do belong to HKSA at Hayling and it was good to see Chris Bull asking everyone coming onto the beach if they had insurance this last Sunday. However, in light of the incident at WW it's pertinent to ask if this is enough? I'm concerned at how many people walk along the beach at Hayling with their dogs etc.. and stand only feet away from kitesurfers launching, landing, etc.. their kites - hardly to be recommended,- and there were alot of beginners on the beach that day - ripe for uncontrolled events!
Perhaps we should be more pro-active and put signs up to advise people of recommended "safe" distances?
