Thanks for the help. I have just sent an email to johann an Remi of snowkiteair.com, they run a kite school at the Col. I am hoping a half day lesson will give me info I need to get there and to fly to local rules, I think a license is needed. The forcast is for more snow in the next week, getting giddy already! I will post a report when I get back.

Hi, I am taking my kites to Serre Chevalier 1st week of March. It's just around the corner from Col du Lautaret. Has anyone kited at the Col? I am hoping to get a bus from Villeneuve get off at the Col, unpack my kite and fly! Has anyone done this? Is life that simple?
