  1. is it a bad idea to fly in south/south westerly winds at ainsdale? lookin at the wind guru forcasts for wednesday and thats what it it says, is it too close to off shore winds to be safe? cheers
  2. roll on a week on wednesday.................. i am gonna start prayin to the wind gods to be kind this time round please...please...please...please...please...please...please...please...please...please...please...please...please...please... add infinitum
  3. dammit missin all the fun this week ah well soon be xmas
  4. i set out this mornin for ainsdale at about 10.40am thinking "well wind guru might be wrong" in todays forcasts of light winds and i thought sod it, ill take a chance.as I was driving I was mildly interested in the lack of movement around me as i drove. (thinkin "it'll be ok when i get there)" then coming thru bickerstaffe i was getting concerned that still nothing was movin. then as i came past the big brown sign saying "Beach" i was alarmed that still, nothing was moving. Well i am sorry folks, this is a story without a happy ending, no sally does not get back with kevin after a messy split over another woman. NO the boy doesn't actually ever find his lost puppy, and alas no, the wind doesnt blow on the beach for the 26 year old cabbie who really should know better. alas there was no wind. By the way i had 3 hours of watching a magnificently still flagpole to think that post up bugger.........
  5. :Dsand monster clear as mud mate:D cheers match, hopefully be able to get down on sundays at least once a month as well as every other wednesday, so more beach time, cant be a bad thing, as for insurance i know its a must, just seems way more complicated than it should be (taxi insurance is a real biatch but it aint as bad as this seems lol) anyway, gonna get insurance, end of. ( i hope lol ) i just looking forward to the weekends :D:D:D:D laters
  6. Insurance...............killing.............my..............will to live. seriously, this whole insurance thing is a farce.... not insomuch as i dont think we should have it, in fact quite the opposite. I just dont understand how it became so polarised, or am i missing something? anyway...... from the long post of big-jons, does that mean that from next year u can have bbc insurance and join taskc or that u can have bbc insurance and still buggy/board/whatever at ainsdale? or am i missing it completely i know its a newbie point but still valid all the same. i have only only flown down at ainsdale once (static) and on looking into insurance, instead of being faced with "which one is best for me?" i am faced with blowing my legs off in a veritable minefield of who runs what where and when. very confused Chris Addendum : incidentally i am not interested in getting into some poe faced argument, just would like a little clarification. cheers
  7. THERE IS LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL!!!!!! Just found out that from nowon I choose my hours and no one else Weekends at ainsdale! I LOVE IT!!! sorry must contain myself my apologies.
  8. is anyone going down wednesday? laters
  9. hang on guys, i am a complete newbie at this whole wind direction thing and it took me about 2 seconds to figure out what was going on with the compass. so add me to the "gay" fraternity PsychoCabDriver (married + 2 kids incidentally)
  10. Thanks match that picture actually explains quite a lot mate much gratitiude bud
  11. sorry to be a pain guys but.... i really know nothing about wind direction at ainsdale, if u are looking straight out at the beach from the road, which way is a westerly blowing ( from the west obviously ) left to right? i know i am being simple now but i am a noob after all. laters
  12. Hey wurzel, colours just about coming back now, especially after 2 and a half hour drive back to warrington, bad smash on the m58 so they closed a junction off. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrreat. but seriously thanks for all the help today wurzel, otherwise i think today might have been a total bust for me (busted nose; face; legs etc ) and thanks to carl for the KK loans they save my @ss a couple of times out there. cant wait to get back down for another session (that 3.0 samurai really surprised me today) and get some REAL kite action. Thanks again guys Chris

  16. Unfortunately i gotta work thursdays (bugger) but gonna take the chance tomorrow, wind guru says 10mph so gonna give it a try. scout out the area as it were, only static kiting anyway so, savin up for my blade III so gonna make the best of my samurai while its the only one i got. plus its better than the local park that lined with trees making it a gusty experience at best. roll on pay days and my new blade. maybe see some ppl down there with the same thing in mind. u never know.
