Just go for it Carl... look at my photo above... just turned up and raced and had a great time. You've got 5 years on that! Last Gasp is perfect... just turn up, have a laugh with the most like-minded people you could hope to meet and take it from there. Welcome to true buggying addiction... you aint seen nothing yet!

Just stumbled on an old picture of me, my 3rd time in a buggy at Hoy in Sep 05. I think Andy Smith and Garry organised a beginners race weekend and I went along for a day. Made me chuckle. Anyone else got any nostalgic pictures of their early buggying/racing exploits? lol
  4. Hi mate, I live in Buxton. Sadly not found anywhere decent local for traction. I have buggied at Birchall Playing Fiellds in Leek which is okish, a couple of other people from Leek go there from time to time. If I fly static I go to a field at Dalehead near the raceway. I have buggied there too (see below). But its very small and probably not the best place to start and not ideal. Probably OK for ATB. Its a farmers field but he's OK with me using it now and again. PM me if you want to know more or if you find anywhere else.

Hey Matt are you racing PKA next year? Do you need some more kites?
  6. 6 left... who needs the big boys? 8.6 is possibly the best race kite ever! 12m is pretty damn amazing for a big kite. Pulls like a geordie on a stag night... but as nimble as a thai massage girl!

If anyone isn’t happy with the condition when they receive the kite they can have their money back. The 4m has had a small 1 inch tear professionally repaired by Surface Tension. The 7.3m has a small tear repaired by tape. The 14m had a seam on one cell re-stitched by Surface Tension but its like new. Prices are for kite only with original kite bag and exclude postage. – I’m guessing UK postage is about £10 for the smaller sizes and £20 for the biggest sizes. You can purchase the kites ready to fly on 15m Ozone lines with Ozone handles for an extra £25 each. Happy buying!

  21. Unless you're on discs!
  22. Sounds interesting Tom. Worried about why they're looking at kite size though... the day some rule restricts my kite selection is the day I quit racing!
  23. Not really Daaf, wet seats could put borderline buggies over the weight limit but slightly lighter ones will still be OK. Hopefully, the buggies will be weighed as part of this years scrutineering (just to test the water) so all these things can be discussed and everyone knows where they are/need to go.
  24. I'd say stiffness is an important factor Stu and your old Pongo will be well flexi compared to an Apexx. As the pongo really loads up it all twists and bends and you're fighting like crazy to keep it straight.
  25. Daaf, so you saying you're better off with a heavier buggy? And unless your only about 12 and your Apexx is a special kiddy one, I can't see how your bug will be only 44/46kg with these. The maths is 2x 8.2kg (beach racers) 1x 5.5kg (duro for front?) and 34kg buggy = Approx 56kg. Have you actually weighed your Apexx? edit: just checked weight on xxtreme website and it quotes only 23kg for standard apexx, but I'm sure Ruudje said approx 34kg to me the other night??
