  1. If you paid by credit card then phone the credit card company as they share joint liabililtiy with the trader and as such you can get your money back from them.
  2. Same thing was added 3 days earlier: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qas2fjbLpc0&feature=related and in this one you get where it came from, a shot of the camera boy and credits (sort of). Think they are French, which make sense and keeps with the grand tradition of climbers out there and playing on sky scrapers.
  3. Oh yes, forgot, all the Portland info can be found at: http://www.paracademy.co.uk/General/Centres/Weymouth/VultureBank/index.php
  4. Yep it was great there yesterday afternoon, flat water, nice wind. Lets hope the wind is back to stay this time.
  5. That is the yearly permit & membership fee, you can get daily/weekly by popping into the Paracademy place. http://www.paracademy.co.uk/General/Centres/Weymouth/VultureBank/daymembership.php regards, Mark
  6. Depends on exactly where the footpath goes, as the right to roam was not extended to beaches. Irrespective of any of this we all need to respect that other people can control where we go, and for the most part that control is exercised because of possible litigation. So blame the moral attitude of most people of this pleasant island for creating a society that just wants money, money and more money and doesn't understand that accidents happen. Too many sports suffer from this, try being a caver!
  7. From what I remember from the NDKC forum the beach is private as such, not public (a rather large number of beaches in the UK are private, owned by the MOD, and even noted upon in the Coast program). The beach was given to Christies after WW2, if they don't own it they certainly control it on behalf of Crown Estates. All other beaches are owned by the Crown Estates and they often pass control to the local council, who can then ban kitesurfing. So unless you can hover down to, and set your kit up below, the water mark, you do as the controllers of said beach ask. Spooky, surely you haven't forgotten yuor debates with Glyn ......
  8. The kite surfing outfit is CNS, http://www.fun-kite.com/ Guess we were lucky last year, 7 days full on wind. As for food I have been to Egypt a few times on dive holidays so am very careful about the water and what I eat, needing th eloo whilst underwater is not too nice. I had a slightly upset tum at the end of the week but nothing to worry about, I put that down to Mr Harris making us all eat local Egyptian food! regards, Mark
  9. Depends on where in Ras. At Paradise the CNS crew do not have a shop (well they didn't last year) but do have plenty to hire if you want to try a smaller board. They do have repair capabilities as they use them for their own kits. They also have lots of pumps around, which as you might well be paying them for rescue etc I'm sure they wouldn't mind you using (plus the local guys doing the rescue are always in need of 'new' board shorts and are very happy to take your old ones that you can't be asked to take back home). regards, Mark
  10. You can take your own board there, went a few times myself last year. Good for practice. Mark
  11. Possibly, but they have also had some light winds. I only got out on my 14m Boxer on the very first and very last days. The rest of the time I was on smaller C kites. Mark
  12. If that is still with waveriders then you are talking about the CNS crew and Paradise Hotel. The CNS crew are very good and I had lessons for the whole week as by the time I would have rented kit it all sort of equaled out (kit included with lessons). During my week I was mostly on 7m and 9m as it was nice and windy. You can email the crew there via their website www.fun-kite.com Great place to learn and the good kiters go further out for neck deep jumping depth. The CNS boys are also very good at helping carry kites back up the beach and the boat does come out to you when you've spent the last 20mins trying to drag upwind to your board (twice in my case). Not a lot else to do there, but nice swimming pool, not that I ever got to it. regards, Mark
