Hi, I have recently brought a Blade III 4.9 which came with a bar and handles, Although I am still getting used to my new Blade I am a quite competent kite flyer when flying wit handles. The problem is up until now I have never flown with a bar and when I tried for the first time I found even balancing on the board very difficult let alone moving off! Can any one please help with advising me on the correct techniques for bar flying?? i.e moving off do’s and don’ts, when to attach he harness and anything else I might be overlooking!! Any tips on the best way to learn to jump with a blade III 4.9 Hey can anyone give me some pointers on the best way to learn how to jump?? What’s the procedure and also is it best to learn without the board first? Could anybody explain the correct techniques for me? (If poss the when’s and how’s) Look forward to your replies Fitz. Hey I don’t mean to sound dumb but can you please break your answer down for me... feel a little foolish asking this but I’m not to sure about terms such as, snaking, lean forwards and redirect the kite, slightly over powered, walking upwind. I hope you don’t mind as I’m sure once you break this down 4 me i will finally have this sussed!! Hey Just think of me as a perfect candidate for a kite boarding for dummies explanation.. Hey who’s got the best advice for tacking back up wind?? As i can’t seem to travel too far back up wind before the kites steam runs out and i grind to a stop!! At the moment I’m able to get a little upwind but nowhere near the distance where I started out. I therefore have to pick up the board and fight my way back up wind!! (and I needn’t say that’s hard work!!) I seem to be missing out something in my technique; do you have any pointers for me or know where I can find any useful tutorials on the subject? Please help. Thanks for your advice Abba, I did try my bar but as I am new to using a bar I thought that it would be sensible for me to use the kite on handles until I get used to the new power.. But hey if you have any tips for tacking back upwind I will be more than grateful.. as I cant seem to travel that far back up before the thrust runs out!! hopefully you can help. Fitz

Hi I’m wondering if there are any fellow land boarders who fly Blade 4.9s at Blackheath (London) ? The reason is I have for the last year been flying a 3 meter Radsail and a scrub series 2 board. I am a competent flyer and an ok land boarder (since I have only had the opportunity to board in high winds with the 3 meter kite which is not that often but I am definitely ok at boarding.) (Also use the board for down hilling so have good board balance) I have recently upgraded my equipment to a Blade 4.9 with handles, and bar and an MBS core 16 board, the thing is I took the kite out for the first time last week and the power of the thing nearly scared the life out of me!! So before I kill myself I am asking if there are any fellow boarders with similar setups who fly at Blackheath who may be prepared to meet down there any time to share some flying tips with me. I live close so I can meet any convenient time. Hey, again I have got good kite control so you won’t be out with a novice… Hope there’s someone out there who can help.
