  1. small world......you're right buck50, i emailed him early and he said he did indeed buy the kite of you. some attachment photos too :)
  2. sorry guys i've given you the wrong idea, i'm not about to stop, just lose this one for a different one. My wifes due to have a bub in dec this year and she wants to do lessons too, so it will be after then that we get to the water, but i figured i could practice on a board till then, hence my desire for a kite that can do both. Landboards look like good fun in thier own right. Danh metioned mobius kite school in cornwell. Do you guys know of a good school closer. Although the thought of a 3 day kite lesson down there presses just a few buttons !!! what a sport a, harnessing natural forces, it's one mighty head thing !!! d
  3. simbil, tom183 & npeac thanks for your comments guys. it's been an eye opener. think i'm both out of my league and now have an inappropraite kite. After a bit of look at it i'll put it back on ebay and kiteboarder for sale. If i still want one later i'll buy it then. Thanks for the site gillstah. thanks again cheers d
  4. don't think you can see the kite anymore on ebay as the auction has ended, but eth description was "Naish Aero II 18m, this is a mid aspect LEI offering lots of stability and grunt making it a superb low wind kite. Considered by many as the best kite Naish have ever made, this 18m turns extremely well for its size offering good jumping ability in the right hands, and being a mid aspect it has SERIOUS HANGTIME! The wind range for this kite I have found to be about 8/10 to about 20knots depending on board size as it has good depower. Construction is bullet proof as are all Naish kites, so you can expect a long life if it continues to be looked after as I have. I have changed the original chicken loop rope for a Takoon item which has a quick release and is slightly longer offering more depower, though the original is included. The lines that come with the kite are 20m with 7m extensions, which allow you to reduce the line length for a more positive feel or use in higher winds (though I could never be bothered to try this). Condition of the kite is excellent, with only one small scuff on the front of the canopy near the 3/4 strut, I have covered the scuff with Spinaker Repair Tape to avoid any further damage to the area, though it has never been a problem. The kite has had little to average use in the 9mths I've had it, probably been used 15 times max. " Andy_j, couldn't find http://www.kiteboard.co.uk. have i got it right ??? gotta get of the pc. i'll check this thread again tomorrow at work
  5. thanks for your thoughts guys. i can't blame the seller, i got it on ebay and probably a little enthusiastic at the time too. guess i'm paying the price now. should recieve it tomorrow. can anyone tell me how a kite aspect affects the way it flys ??? cheers d
  6. thanks a million Andy_j. i'm all ears if anyone else has a personel recommendation.
  7. spooky, it's a mid aspect kite. How does the aspect affect teh way the kite flys ??? danh & kitedude, thanks for the info. Sounds like this kite is not really very suitable for me. I'm about 74 kg, (11.5 stone). Probably would 've been interesting to watch !!! What do you think might be a better kite for me ??? I'm hardly a serious kite surfer, just looking for something that has a broad wind wind range and i can use for land boarding and probably a bit of kite surfing too. Also.....18m Naish Aero 11 for sale, any offers cheers d
  8. gotta get some work done, i'll come back to this in an hour or two cheers all d
  9. okay, now i'm starting to get a bit embarresed. I had a 4m blade 3 for a few years, flown a few 4.9's and wanted something bigger for land boarding in LIGHT wind and learning kite surfing under similarly light wind. Summer wind in London seems to be endlessly very light. I figured it was all about sail area and wind strength, and a healthy respect for these two should keep me intact. It also sounded like these bigger kites had a pretty broad depowering system. I asked around a bit and was told it would be a big step but not TOO big. Sounds like you guys are telling me it's a ridiculously big step. It's an 18m. I guess the next question is, is it too big even in light winds and with lessons ??? listening careful darren
  10. thanks for the advice enders13, lessons certainly seem to be the general opinion. cheers d
  11. that's the gist of it. thought i'd try and hook up with someone who flys them first, but failing that i certainly will get some lessons. i'd prefer to go cautiously and figure it out myself if i can, but i'm very consious of keeping bones intact too. Do you think this is a tall order ???
  12. hello all, i just brought my first LEI yesterday and would like to get some flying / surviving tips. I'm in London and would like to catch up on a weekend soon. If you're interested email me AH on suedama69@ukonline.co.uk or AW darren.saunders@uk.bnpparibas.com cheers Darren;)
