I am thinking of getting a unlocked iphone to use on my current contract with vodafone. Is this ok to do and does it produce any problems as they were set up for O2.

Has anyone done it, and is it worth getting one? i have heard they may be bringing out a new one in sept, is this true?

Just remember that "updates" can/will brick your phone if you've unlocked it.

Lovely bit of kit, I wish I had one. If I did I think I'd get an iPhone, unlock it, and use it as an iPod and for bluetooth/wireless internet, take the SIM card out (not sure if that would cause problems) and just use a £20 pay-as-you-go for my phone as I do now. Pay hundreds of pounds a year for a mobile contract? No chance, I spend about £3/month.

Lmao at the Geoff:D

I have an unlocked iPhone and I have an o2 contract anyway but they work fine, if you buy one from http://www.cex.co.uk you get 12 month warrenty as well. Just remember not to update the software but you can do it through installer which you get when the iphone is jailbroken. Mine is still on 1.1.2 and I love it. There are people constantly bringing out new software for it all the time :D:D
