I would go for a laptop?

Nothing to do with I may be sellig My Sony  lol

But IMHO PS2 are still great for games, espcially if you not ito them in a big way, I laugh with your mates if raining or drunk etc.

PC/Laptp so much more usefull.

If you haven't already got a PC, then go for a laptop every time. If however, you have a PC for your net access, emails, music, homework, stuff, etc, and you want a high end laptop for gaming, then check your budget! A decent gaming laptop is not gonna start til £650 and rise quickly to £1200 or more for a top end slightly future proof one.

If it's just for games, and Pc needs are sorted, 360.

Well find out, as tempted to down grade my Sony Vaio (3 months old) as on a fund rasier for a paraglider.

Jon

Well they were going to spend about 300.350 on a xbox 360

so how much you looking for?

yeh same! :D how much?

and right well what spec is ur current laptop? could you upgrade it quite cheaply with more memory? sometimes helps!

And what xbox360 were you looking at getting? Because personally i would go with a PS3! saves the risk of RED RING OF DEATH or whatever its called and maybe if you can find any 60GB consoles left you could use your ps2 games on it as well (or wait for the new one)

Not sure, yet lol

I will do some calculations and let all know.

It will not be cheap, as new it was £830

But will be cheaper than new :)

Jon

lol no i wasnt expecting it to be. how come your selling so soon?

that red ring of death thing was all about over heating but the only happens if you stand it on end because you block the fan vents.......

so simple option is put it on its side and jobs a good'n, mates had his on for 3days none stop with out it over heating and has it lying on its side.....another if your desperate to stand it up and think the extra cooling fans you can buy from amazon or something are great.....forget it they block the vent more and are much noisier.....

i'd say xbox if your only spending £350 on a laptop as tbh to get something decent you wanna be looking about the £500 margin

£630 including postage

Cost £850

Cheapest I have seen them for now is around £800

Only one mark and that is a slight scuff on the bottom leading edge, from where it sat in my docking system (has two fans on so keeps it nice and cool).

Battery used 3 times, ie once a month and then full charge to keep it in A1 condition.

NB Found with my old system using it on the mains with Battery in all the time degraded it from nearly 3hrs run time to 1-1.5hrs depending on use?

Hence why not used this one with it in much, and can get 2.5-3.5 hrs.

All in all a very nice Laptop, looks very stylish in Vaio Ali/black finish (non of this stick on plastic covers that flex like on the Acers  ) light at 2.8kilo's

Core2 Duo T7100,

2gb Ram (can go to 4)

160HD, plenty big enough for me, still only used 30/35gb.

1gb of Vram (128 dedicated)

Screen is ace as it has double lamp tecnolagy (what ever that is  ) but does give a great view.

Scores a 4 on the "Windows Experience Idex" high than some faster set ups.

Games, runs all the latest fine.

DVD/CD WRW drive.

4USB, card readers and the all important HDMI connection for the big TV's

And found no issues with any photo/video work I have done.

Selling? Only as on a fund raiser to get a paraglider :D

So if I can sell this I will get a cheap basic pc for internet/e-mail only, and put the rest toward a wing.

Only £1500 to go  lol
