oc1rob
Looking at an 07 Atom 15m as a trip saver / bit more power solution as I get better. I'm 14.5St and currently have a 9m 07 Waroo and a 12m gen Bow kite. Granted there will be a bit of overlap between the 12m and the 15m, but at the moment I like to ride powered NOT overpowered. Now I have never flow an Atom, but I am not too bothered at that as I know build and design will be second to none... its just a question of wheter it will do what I want it to? Opinions and suggestions please as I have an option on one at a good price.

stueyboy
....or lose weight and get out in a smaller kite
Derek Rides
I think the Atom is better suited as a "windy" kite, dont think light wind is its prowess I like them in small sizes its a low AR kite so good for gusty and windy stuff, true its a bit slow, some even call it dull, but that can be an advantage in some conditons, I like to think of it as reliable. Light Winds? Best Deal I've seen around the late model T2's are an absolute Tractor if your under 80 kgs and you can fly it at all, you should get up wind on a reasonably big board.. and they're cheap and well sorted.. Switchblades but I haven't seen so many of them around on deals as there were a while back. There are Liquid Farces about but I'd avoid them for light weather. sunset
Avoid the 15 atom there are better kites for light wind. The flysurfer range comes to mind or a 14 Ocean rodeo rise which have a reputation for light wind performance.
offshore1597507496
what a load of bo llocks!! have you guys ever flown a 15m?? beleive me this kite rocks, it has a fu cking awesome range, it will get you going as early as any 15/16m out there and will keep going.......... right the way to your small kite. I have been out on this kite whilst waroos 12m have not been able to fly (too windy) and while others have been on 7,9 and 10.5 flexis. If this kite is at a good price then definately get it, you won't be disappointed, it will add a good amount to your quiver and improve low wind days substantially, especially at your weight. I wiegh 90-95kg ride 15and 9m ions and a skywalker 131 dimitri pro, I stay upwind earlier than the guys who are lighter and on 12ms, trust me this kite works. pm for more info, offshore?? T42
Another suggestion. I use a 15m 07 Waroo to suppliment my 12m Atom. I find they go quite well together. I ride a Rip 138, it's my only board.

sunset
what a load of bo llocks!! have you guys ever flown a 15m?? Well yes I have and have one for sale. I am selling it because of its poor bottom end My 12 Ocean Rodo Rise easly does a better job Right that should bring the punters in to buy the
harry_a
^ lol i was on one for most of a week in egypt and i found it wasnt good form light winds but really fun for when the wind gets up and youre nicely powered on a 12, you whack the 15 up and go HUUUUUUGE my 10 rise gets going in 13kts and im no midget, so the 14 should be pretty fun too. fast kite as well. if you can find a fast big kite then youre sorted for light winds, thats why i dont think the 15 atoms too good as its a bit of a truck to fly.
