kitegirl Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 If you're after 90s indie, try Screamadelica by Primal Scream. To my mind, the best album of all time. Beyond that, try Smashing Pumpkins, Lemonheads, New Order, Ride, Ocean Colour Scene, Carter USM, The Cure, St Etienne, Paris Angels... Enjoy. (Pixies are awesome though eh? Am having a Pixies revival myself ) Quote
Spyke Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 enter shikari.....entershikari...enter shikari... best unsigned band ever Quote
Nomix Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 The Smiths What about them...I put it twice accidentally... Once is an accident, twice is just silly ............... Quote
Chris Bainbridge Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 If you like Editors, try Interpol. im liking older stuff like the REM and the pixies, and newer stuff like the editors, wolfmother and arcade fire. ideas? Quote
Atavar Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I'd recomend Muse to anyone with earholes, Polyphonic spree, some of Bejorks work, The Fratellis, and the Khizer Chiefs if you missed any of those newer bands, and for old stuff... You can't beat Holsts The Planets suite. I'm serious. Try not to go for the naxos rubbish, i had a quality recording from the bbc shympony orchestra before the tape broke, the diffrence in sound and pace is noticeable to say the least. My naxos CD was by the Czechoslovak Radio Symphony Orchestra. Its a bareable but inferior recording. sorry CRSO. They may have rerecorded it with a different orchestra recently, but i wouldn't risk it. Quote
kitegirl Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Ooo, ooo, don't forget the Sugarcubes too... Quote

Disco_Bison Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 The Wilburys are everything you said Harry. Imagine George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne getting together to make music and putting their sounds together and you have The Traveling Wilburys. No, seriously you do as those are the members of the group. Go and buy their double album with DVD or pick them up off ebay separately, there is a Vol 1. and Vol. 3 - Vol.2 got lost somewhere in the middle. Both great works of art, I've had them for ages Quote
