if i can find a wi fi hot spot i will post back loads of pics of me and my best mate arron, the pics will not show me as i will be holding the camera,

looks like lake como will be a hot spot for kitesurfing in the future, the wind is clean there, and the lake is massive, all the kitesurfing is done at the north west tip of the lake, loads of camp sites, and zillions of hotels, cafe life is so good, and no sand in the shower after each sesh, and no smelly wetsuits from salty brine,

is there anything other than kiting going on on the NW side of the lake?

windsufing, sailboats, power boats with ski's are for hire to power boat licence holders, (that's me)

thats four out of four for me!! is two weeks long enough? and the motor bike is on my trailer for when i get bored, jesus! so so good !!:D and the pro kite event is on as well, pinch me quick i must be dreaming,

just a thought, i see you want to learn kitesurfing while you are there, great stuff!

but take a tip from me (iko instructor)

have as much practice before you get there, it's all deep water teaching, ie take you out 2km into deep water

jump out and get going

for some thats a bit hard !!

mind you if your there for a month then you should have it sorted,

i had a great laugh when i was there 4 years ago, i had been kitesurfing for 4 months and paid for a school boat trip 2 km out to gain some down wind experience, the newbies in the boat with me believed i had never done it before just like them,(thats what i told them and the instructor was in with the gag) the instructor asked me to jump in the water ist and have a go, i had not been doing it that long so i still looked a bit shakey, but the look on the newbies faces when i sailed off in to the distance was pure gold, i did fall in but got up and off again to the cheers of the instructor

yeh im hoping to have had a good go before going - done loads on land, so hoping it wont be too hard to pick it up... hopefully ill have a go in the uk - and practice water relaunching etc - but yeh, whatever i do, should have it sorted after a month...

Sounds like a good place to take the missus. Nice mountains too.

What sort of wind is it? Is it thermic wind that kicks in in the afternoons, and does it get better the warmer it gets, warm wind from the plains rushing up to the cool mountain air?
