Superman
Got me a prob. Bindings - When they are too loose my board keeps falling off especially if I come down hard and fast off a wave or mini jump (my jump level ..... ) when they are too tight I can't get my feet in properly so the board also falls off too easily - What am I gonna do!? ps I've got a Lost Cause board with Flying Objects bindings. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.....

Superman
In between setting - nope not really - footstraps are kind of elasticated so no dice - I think that my only option is to ride without my neoprene booties so I get more 'feel' ..... Nails - ha ha - nope thought of Superglue .....
dantayler
On most boards I thought there were a choice of settings where the straps bolt to the deck of the board? Then fine tune the fit with the velcro straps?Don't know the board so sorry.Good luck going barefoot,I know you're a bit more hardcore up north but the water aint that warm in february!Your feet'll go numb pretty quick.Good luck. Bruce100
I've been having similar 'bootie' issues (Crazy Fly board) so I have just fitted a set of maui magic elasticated heal straps (£15). First outing last weekend. Pretty pleased with results, board never came of feet once in 2 hours but can be a bit fiddly to get on/off at start/end of session. Might be worth a try?? If you don't want to shell out to buy a factory made set of straps I am advised that bicycle inner tube works well as long as you fold over the ends a couple of times and hot cut the holes. Both options fasten to the board using the same screws that attach the main straps.
HOFY9
Get some neoprene/kevlar socks (Made by Nookie) and get rid of your boots. You will never look back. Warm feet AND barefoot feel. Check the sizes before you order- they come out small
KiteItRight
a good idea is bungees. ive seen people use old bycyle inner tubes, cut them accordingly and tie them to the straps or attach to the strap screws, then you push them around your heal so they kep your foot int he bindings. you feel much more coinfident and they are pretty easy to put on too. just a thought.. kevob
come on superman its easy, as you leave the water grab the board take it off spin it then put it back on just before you land;) mike - These are the ones i use and i would recomend them, not quite as good as bare feet but loads better than boots, trouble with bare feet this time of the year is you cant feel them to know where they are on the board see you both tomorrow if your there
HOFY9
Size 9 would be XL. You wont regret trying them!
kiterMD
I ride with heel bungees and I've tried multiple brands. The best I've found is the homemade version. Just cut a bike tube and tape the ends with duct tape (or hockey or athletic or...). Fasten them under your regular straps. You'll probably need a size longer screw or you could risk stripping your inserts. Good luck and have fun...

POT BELLY
The Nookie socks look good, I wear neoprene boots but don't like the lack of feel to the board, are they really that good:confused:

I have had the same problem as you I think. Here is how I helped to fix it. I found that most adjustable straps, although adjustable, had elastocated neoprene stuff on the strap, so even when really open, the straps pulled closed until they were stretched by your foot. Without boots this is fine as you can jam/wriggle your foot in, but with boots this was impossible. You either have the strap so loose the board doesn't listen to your feet, or tight so you can't get the boots in. I realised that the elastocated bit was a seperate flap of material put through the fixing bolt when attached to the board, between the main strap and the board. So, I undid the side of the strap with the adjustable bit and took this flap of material off the fixing bolt and just tucked it back up inside the strap, then refixed the strap. Now, when the strap is loosened, it does not pull close again. This makes it MUCH earier to get your foot with boots on in the strap. I have shown this to a couple of people who had issues with boots and it immediatly fixed the problem. Might be worth a try?
mattdez
have u tried pivoting the attachment posts, one clockwise and the other anticlockwise, so it adjusts the shape of the binding, it will make the toeside of the strap tighter or looser in comparison to the heelside, if u get me?! POT BELLY
have u tried pivoting the attachment posts, one clockwise and the other anticlockwise, so it adjusts the shape of the binding, it will make the toeside of the strap tighter or looser in comparison to the heelside, if u get me?! This is one thing that i tried, and it makes alot of differance, i twisted the sides of the straps (at the point where they sit on the board) out at the front then tightened the screws, this dropped the front of the straps down making it easier to get my feet (with boots in) it's still not as good as bare feet and beach starts are a pain.
