paulie_amoose
I have a SX141 04 model, It is a very good board with slingshots bomber construction. It's 40cm wide allowing early plaining, pretty aggressive rails which means you can hold down a fair amount of power for a biggish board. But it is super soild with no flex at all, which makes it harder work in chop and landings can be heavy. I took the 2 extra heel side fins off mine to loosen it up. It is also not a very fast board and feels slightly heavy on your feet.. I've been riding mine for 2 years and I'm only now thinking of changing it.... Good board of the if the price is right but it missing some the lastest features like flex tips...
Trigsta
Thanks for the info. Ive been riding a wipika edge 149 for a while. However ive snapped it. Im upto the stage where im doing reasonable jumps and few tricks etc. Would you say this is a beginner board or just restricted completely to light whinds
doc
Trigsta, hiya bud. i haven't used a lot of boards to be honest. i have tried a a half dozen or so on the beach but each time i just can't wait to get me sx board back. i have a sx151 and in light winds or in waves i find it really nice. it plains at low speed so u can slow urself down when poppin over the large waves. it also has low profile fins -so i can go in a few inches of water without worrying whether the fins are gonna dig in. To be honest, i am so unworried about this that i usually can't be bothered to get up off me board when i am on the sand i just slide the board back along the sand till i get back in the water. So u got no worries about that board - i did see one on the beach that was bent in half mind - but mine shows no signs of such at the mo. paulie_amoose
I'm a intermediate can do backloops, frontloops, good jumps, just starting to kiteloop and I would'nt say the board has held me back at all. That said at this stage I thinking of changing my board fairly soon to something around 130 x 39 mark. I think boards have moved on alot in the last 2 years. I also with SLE/bows ect you don't need a very small board anymore as edging is less critical. You wont go far wrong with it if it's cheap...
