Louise my sweet, women have been abused by men since the beginning of time and you are to be fair your own worst enemy...after all the majority of the female race are constantly dieting to conform to what men expect. Models tend to be skinny ...vivien westwoods most notorious photo is of her in a see through dress. for the most part WOMEN LOOK BEYOND what they see ...which is lucky for the majority of the balding , fat, male population of this country.. so MBS and their vixen advert is just conforming to what you expect ...you might not buy it but the advert has done its job as you remember it! (and dont you own a waroo, so you have contributed to the cost of the Best Girls?)

Kitegirl and abbe, I have a personal video of Mark Shinn and Aaron topless... Both are very well defined ...both having a six pack that would put most on this forum to shame! (you may drool now!)

Whether we like it or not, a pretty girl ..wearing very little does appeal to the majority of its targeted audience ...Men!

Best, (I was told by 2 different sources, both well respected within the industry, are out selling all other brands) ...dont be mistaken that this means its the best product ...tescos outsell waitrose ...it could be the best product, but sales dont mean anything ...advertising and cost sell products not the product itself! Casing point a jumper that was sold on here recently for £20 ...you cant buy better for the price (imho) but we dont all have a multi million £ advertising budget!

I had emailed best and asked why they had the Best girls but alas to this point they have failed to answer!

so are these photos acceptable?

I had a personal conversation earlier and a good point was made that more and more women are getting into the sport, but, its still male dominated

Is there any surprise when these pictures promote the sport.

It's like the photo for ATBshop in Powerkite magazine. Which self respecting woman would want to buy a MBS Vixen when a skantilly clad woman is clutching it. Errrr no.

The End. Feminist rant over. Carry on...

JEEZZZZUUUS LOU... that was close ..... I was reading this and thought hang on a minute thats ME (FFS) Blader and Marcus in that photo ...

WHEW (pulse and blood pressure return to normal) - then I realised that Dipsy is just Dipsy and yeah she can hug that board AND it's the "old" shop ad

As for BEST girls I can see a WAROO logo on the dark haired one but not the blonde one so for me thats only 50% advertising and 50% porn / sex AND @ Brian - very tastefully advertised (WASTED that is) just an unfortunately wet shirt that you put it on :D:D:D but after all that IS where the logo would be isn't it

Frakke ;):p

It does appear REEF have missed the opportunity...they could have put the girl on the rocks in their flipflops with the bottle opener in the sole! :p

Thankyou Angus ...as yet Best havent replied to me, perhaps it didnt help that I stated I didnt buy their products. :o

Yeah why 42 ....budget restraints, bored, ran out of clothes or the other 10 could be too risquee for us?

The reason why Reef are so big is they had a weird marketing policy which paid off ...normally a brand will be marketed as a budget brand or a premium brand straight from the start ...but reef just wanted to get into the surf stores and surfys wearing their clobber. So they came in at a low price and just escalated their brand almost over night. Casing point is I bought a pair of reef sandals for £12 the same pair are now £60! Their are at least 2 brands I know of that are desperatley seeking to get into our shops as Kiting is the new surfing ...surf is all marketed out ...Brunotti :) and On Fire  desperatley tried this year to sign up as many kite shops as they could. The reason is specifically to get you to wear their clothes, you will become their advert and they hope to be the O'neills and the reefs of the the future.

I was offered a job by brunnoti, but turned them down part of the reason being they only were interested in the kitesurf part of the sport and couldnt see that the sport wasn't that easy to define as many cross-over. Brunotti do sponsor events and Make boards so havent got too many issues with them but would like to see them to do more for the sport as a whole...On-fire dont do anything for any part of the sport and should pi$$ off back to the states and play with their KTM motorbikes! (whoops rant over) if on-fire want a public or private argument I'm here all week and I'll be nice enough to tell everyone how poorly your products are made and how little they cost you to make! (now its over!)
