yer, i was actually wearing a helmet for most of that session, just took it off during the 4 or 5 filming clips of me cos i think i look a bit gay weearing it, i know there good at savin ur life and all tht. and if i did let go of the bar, which i did once, nothing happened, it just floated infront of me for a couple of secs then driffted downwind at walking pace, as Ed-h said, its only light winds, cheers guys

Ok, I'm not usually one to get all up about other people safety but.....

 

I don't really care much about his head....his choice if he want to risk it. But a leashless, unhooked LEI on land in a public place is just irrisponsible. Had it been an open foil then I would probably agree, it would likley just hit the ground and collapse......but an LEI won't! If there is enough for it to fly, there enough for it to blow away downwind.

 

Likewise, if he had been hooked in I probably wouldnt have said anything, but purposely riding unhooked with no leash.....is a bit silly.

Is this where I pop up and point out that doing things like that on a banned site is even more silly. There's already been a situation where a kite got loose on that site, I won't go into details because it's a public site other than to say I understand the hotel it was recovered from were very understanding on "that occasion".

can i just bring everyone's attention to a very very important point that hasn't been made yet...

 

the guy in the vid (who i assume is jonathan) has the nickname "dibs"

 

notice this is "dibs" "dibs" ok... not "Dibz" which would be me.

 

so, to clarify...

 

dibs = kid who flys unhooked without safety systems in place and without a helmet

 

Dibz = responsible adult who always wears safety gear, including a helmet and flys with at least a primary safety system (usually a secondary also).

lol thats a good point there! my 1510 always has a leash as it is actually an implement of death!.....next vid (expect it by this weekend) will have more extreme trickage, and LEASHES! oh yeah. thanks guys! and thanks for not reporting us to the police spook i still need a go on your venoms! we're down on friday till 6 ish if your around.
