Mother Goose Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 Neeeeeeeeeeed to fly guys and gals Quote
bigrider Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 if uve got a car youve got three good options, all a bit of a drive. westbury 50mins, batier park in pool 70 mins or the best place to go to is weston about 70 mins away. its a bit of a drive but well worth it. Arround here theres nothin. the terraces in sherborne has rubbuish gusty wind, the parks in yeovil are allways full of footballers. Quote
Mother Goose Posted September 18, 2006 Author Report Posted September 18, 2006 NICE 1. Damn footballers , dont mind the drive as long as i can fly Quote
SonnyRider Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Weston is a good spot when it's a westerly - North westerly. A SW can be a bit messy but still 'doable' Long drive tho' Oh, and you *have* to be a member of one of these clubs, SWATK, Wind & Wheels and the blokart one Quote
walty666 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Middle Wallop is only 1hr 15mins away (not sure if you can use it outside of festival time though?) Otherwise Salisbury's only an hour away. I would imagine there must be some good spots on Salisbury Plains... Quote
SonnyRider Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Otherwise Salisbury's only an hour away. I would imagine there must be some good spots on Salisbury Plains... Dodging the tanks wouldn't there be a lot of uneven ground there? (not just the bomb holes or tank tracks. Like rabbit warrens etc.? Might not be so bad on a buggy. Quote

Yeah, you might also wanna watch out for large, conspicuous stones sticking out of the ground... http://www.region9-nfsh.co.uk/stonehenge.gif Quote
SonnyRider Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 Wouldn't the fence stop you from getting too close? Quote
walty666 Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 They've fenced it off now have they? Must've been about 20 years ago when I was there last... Quote
Mother Goose Posted October 3, 2006 Author Report Posted October 3, 2006 I want to fly but not at the risk of getting killed non kite related Quote
SonnyRider Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Judging by what others have said, you have very limited flying areas. Looks like you will have to travel Quote
