dmb Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 It's up on my roof - looks like a brown/white/blue budgie http://angusdrive.bounceme.net/images/DSCN0252.jpg Quote
Farno Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Its a budgie matey, use some Trill seed or better still Millet bought from any super market about £1 a packet, hang it to your washing line. If you dont get it other birds will attack it. It should last a few days in this weather. Quote
oc1rob Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 I would say that it is a brown white blue Budgie!!! One that has obviously escaped at some point! Quote
metal_snapper1599968645 Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 looks very Budgie like.....probably flew out of someones window....being the warm weather I would they were wide open... Quote

cassiewoofer Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 i think it's a budgie. not native to this country but in this hot weather might be ok...though you should try and tempt it inside with food and return it to a (probably) old person nearby. Quote

Spiritflier Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Looks dead to me too... I've seen enough dead birdies on roof tops. The claws aren't holding onto anything and they're clenched too. It also looks as if it's leaning against the roof tiles and it looks like its eyes are shut as well. Deffo a Budgie I'd say. Quote
dmb Posted July 26, 2006 Author Report Posted July 26, 2006 You sure that's not a Norwegian Blue Looks as dead as a parrot pmsl ! I thought it was dead, but just checked again and not only is it not an ex-budgie, gone to meet its maker etc. but there's one of the buggers flying around the garden and another one sitting up a tree Quote
windy Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 You live in Ruislip, correct? Well i think that could be one half of the only non-captive breeding pair of a variant species of Passer Domesticus. This rarest of birds was introduced into the wilds of Ruislip by an a Chinese exchange student, who was boarding at a local well known Public school. It is rumoured that he smuggled the birds over with him from Beijing, cuz he couln't be parted from them. He loved em so much he used to speak to them. In fact they got their name from his greeting It is called the Harrow Sparrow. :) Then again, (and because it's all totally made up:o ) it might just be budgie. Quote
the_lone_wolf Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 You sure that's not a Norwegian Blue lovely plumage... Quote
Sturmovik Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 There are naturalised budgies in this country that live wild in the South checkn out your nearest RSPB book. Quote
