AliB Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 i can easily do them on my 16m RRD hiR its whips round super quick. Quote
ShapeShifter Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 me too on my 15 yarga....no problem, in fact its better to learn em on a big kite in light wind....no spankings of any serious nature.. Quote
rich-ard Posted June 28, 2006 Author Report Posted June 28, 2006 ive tried them on my 8m venom wiped round Quote
Neddy knacker Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 The thing I did wrong was learn them hooked in (big no no) Started trying them unhooked (start cranking the kite before you take off with both hands on one side of the bar) found it better cause you cant back out which is a good thing honest Dan Quote
ShapeShifter Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 uve not done a powered loop then ron I know that Ali but this guy is just starting, you wouldnt want him to go big and hard without knowing what to expect would you ? If you do it with a big kite in light winds chances are you will land before the kite has completed the loop (unless you have a 16 RRD like ali of course)- this is not a problem but be prepared for the kite to complete the loop when using a smaller kite in higher winds. The high wind option will spank you if you dont commit...I think we all learnt that one... Quote
kevob Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 a kite loop has got to be the easiest trick in the book, all you have got to do is jump and crank the bar, the hard bit is finding the balls to do it, and if you do chances are you will smash the water hard for a while, then its finding the balls to keep trying:D Quote
troy1599968664 Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 found a link on here a while back i i think its aewsome and has taught me a lot about the backloop so here you go..... http://www.fatsand.com/WebTV/?s=0 Quote
KermitStu Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 thats back loops mate they are on about kite lops totaly diffrent thing a back loop is basically a 360 Quote
enterusername Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 i have never done a straight kiteloop, but can do backloop kiteloops as i find not being able to see my kite going throo the window less scary, make sure u take the non looping hand off the bar because natural reactions will make for a sore wipe-out. As for an easy way to do them: cheat, like me (11m Instinct) or any other bow, its cheating but it looks good so im all for it!! Quote
rich-ard Posted June 30, 2006 Author Report Posted June 30, 2006 ive tried it but it has just got to be the right day to do it e.g. 15mph winds 8m kite. which is the same sort of day i tried it in last time. dad you have already seen me try and do it but i dont know what i am doing wrong?:confused: Quote

bushflyer Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 tried a kiteloop on a landboard, landed it, felt quite clever. tried one on the water, in underpowered/normal conditions, landed and felt like a hero. tried one properly powered, had my ass handed to me, got my board in my face and cut my finger open on my fin. tried again and got a big headache. all of the above plus the little bits ive learned: if you're gonna crash, do a starfish and try to come in flat. the 'torpedo' landing technique is a rather painful alternative. dont keep hold of the bar if it goes pete tong. point the board downwind. absolutely essential. suicide leashes are called that for a reason, even on bows. the harder you crank the easier it is. you may think you'll die but it'll probably be ok. dont do them with a hangover. it hurts like hell if you do! if you get dazed, take a break from them and come back to it later. if you can think straight you stand a better chance. also give them a go at the beginnig of the session so you dont slip into your usual routine. ShapeShifter Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 Nice one Mal - take some partacetamol next time ! either that or rotate less First full power ones for me resulted in bruised ribs and 2 days off work.... Commit and Crank hard or eat it.... Quote
jrobson Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 So did the original poster try some loops yet? I am going to give it a go next time I go out, unhooked small kite, light winds... Quote

sonicseal Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 You tried them on the beach static flying with a little Blade? Been learning the stages of kiteloops and downloops and understanding what happens. Quite easy to pop a little jump and loop it. Facing it square at first seems to prevent you getting spanked sideways while your learning. Quote
session1 Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 Unhooked is much harder than hooked in if underpowered. It's hard to get the pop off the water. Tommy Quote
