Hathba Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Hi all, Bought myself a set of wider wheels for my bug and have a slight problem. The wheels came from buggywielen in Holland and all 3 have same size bearings and spacers etc. Problem is, front axle on Parastorm is smaller than back 2. So, I need a spacer to fit in the bearings as shown below. Can anyone help please? I am happy to pay for it, unless its a squillion squid of course Below is a diagram of what i need, it is basically a tube with the dimensions as given, could be made of anything but Aluminium best i think. Please PM me if you can help, or if you want the kudos, just reply here Thanks for looking and here is the piccy. http://hometown.aol.com/TIMHARRIS7/Spacer.JPG Quote

Mark Rose Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Any engineers suppliers will sell you that realy cheap. Just cut it to length, job done. Quote
flydad Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 I think you'll also need a bit more than that. Quote
Zotty Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 would say stainless would be better than Aluminium mi thinks Quote
MadAndy71 Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Ally may be a cheap option but it will crush and deform. edit...is it 13mm on the front of a parastorm? I have plenty of 20 down to 12mm bore reducers. A bit tatty I guess from being left in my tool box but nealc sells them. edit MK2, I am now thinking you want an internal spacer so the 13mm sits inside the inner race of the bearing. Quote
Active-8 Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 12mm bearing on the front of a para, you need the tophats matey, i can PM you where to get them from ;-) Quote
Hathba Posted February 11, 2006 Author Report Posted February 11, 2006 Phil, tried calling Al several times today, BT call minder all the time, will try in the week. I need the spacer that reduces the 20mm bearings to 12 but measured the ones that sit in between the bearings and the hole is 13mm, hence the 13mm. The back ones have a spacer that reduces to 15mm for the Para back axle and you are all correct in the front being 12mm, but the bolt is 12 and this needs to slide over it. Oh, one more thing, original Parastorm spacer is Stainless, the ones that came with the wheels from Buggywielen are ally, but i guess the wheels were pretty cheap so to be expected. So, where are we now? Did someone say they had some tube of the right size? I dont care what they look like as long as they fit, nobody can see them inside the wheel. cheers, Tim Quote

Can send on for price of postage but, as I said, they are a bit tatty - pitted with surface rust. Quote
