I was at Brancaster today........bugger all wind so didnt walk down the beach but I noticed a large red/white/black kite, must have been 8-10m looked similar in profile to a Blade. This was the only thing in the sky when I looked. I didnt recognise the colour scheme or patterns???

I have not seen one of these before, what was it? prototype? A guy on a mountainboard was flying it. Or maybe I am just cr*p at recognising kites!

Possibly a big Yakuza......erm no?

would be mark everet's blade IV:D

I was flying Brancaster on New Years Day and i was filming too! But it was about 17mph wind, there was a couple of Blade 3 6.6's in the air, a Bullet 3.5, a Blade 3 4.9 and a couple of others further down the beach! I was there between 10 and 2 - Wind died off a little then!

Looking back at the tape I cant see any UFKites!!

Was it later in the afternoon?

Hi there

I was out surfing in morning and know where evreybody was flying, Some of which were in the wrong area.

Do you know the Rules of the Beach??? Did you turn left or right when you came onto the beach??? Just as you ar not allowed to do Traction activites to the right (East of club house)

This causes lots of problems with local authorities.

Easy Tiger.......

No Craig he is right....

Brancaster is restricted to members only. This has been going on for a while now and everyone on here should know about.

Can i point everyone to this post.

http://community.flexifoil.com/announcement.php?f=7&announcementid=33

Please respect this. These restrictions are the only way anyone is ablt ot use the beach. I know it seems unfair but this is the way things are.

Many thanks

Ok, there are rules to be adhered to on this beach, but no need to be quite so territorial Craig. Think you'll find the chap above was static flying anyway!

Sorry if it sounded abit errupt but people seem to disrespect rules that are put out to monitor.

If everybody works together and ahears to these rules then there is a higher chance they will open up more of the beach.

Went i went out it wasn't till i was out on the water that i noticed the "Person to the East of the club house on a 4.9 and 3.5 Bullet 05 Red was boarding as well.

By the time i had come in they had gone, All i was trying to do was find out if this was him and will Admit i did miss read his first post,

Therefore i assumed he was this person, now having re read his post it says he saw the bullet and blade 4.9 being flown before i had read this as this was him flying it.

Sorry for this

Hi think Jon's point (mentioned some where) is unless you come on this forum (or ask on the beach) people do not know about the restrictions? Yes people could walk up the beach to ask the regulars, but for most new/ocassional fliers they either like to keep clear of others ("Oooh they look like they are good dont want to get in their way" approach or have no reason to think there are restrictions, after all a beach is a beach?? (and it is a long walk lol).

Problem with Branny (from what I understand) is the Nature people do not want signs saying what areas to use (as they would prefer no kiters) and are worried if they have a sign like that then it is almost actively encoraging people to come and fly???

So makes it difficult for people to know?

I know the clubs hands are bound by very tight rules, but could not a sign be placed in the rear windows of club memebers cars so visitors who are not regulars on here or just getting into kiting would know?

Just a thought,

Jon

I understand how important it is to kiting, thats why rules are imposed. But as Spooky rightly said, although we think everyone reads the forums, in reality, very few people do. Especially in relation to the amount recreational flyers that use UK beaches...

Frriends of mine that fly at Brancaster have been braking rules, but they were only aware of this 25 mins ago when I phoned them.

There is no way of them knowing about these rules unless they are posted at the beach. And I saw the two kids with the bullet and board, and im sure the same applies to them...

Ps. I did see some kiteboarders walk to and then back from the water in the morning, but I didn't see anyone on the water... Bit chilly?......:p

I saw a guy on a yellow 4.9 BIII and there was also a guy on an 05 bullet but they were only static flying. I dont remember seeing them landboarding but I did think that there was a lot of pedestrians near to them. Right by the entrance to the beach.

I was left of the clubhouse past the rocks, with my 10m extacy laid out on the sand trying to dry it, while my mate was sorting the lines for his new North iron-heart bar. We had the highly luminous boardshorts on! We packed up about 2pm as the wind totally died!

Yes, I remember you guys, nice shorts too, I agree!

I was with a friend of mine on a 6.6 Blade! I was just to the right of the rock's, which I now understand to be out of bounds. Won't be doing that again..........

Old Hunstanton has a beach with no restrictions. And in most of the time it is in better condition than Branny. But as we have to keep Bran restricted to members we don't clog the beach up when the wind conditions are better there then Bran.

thats right guys, no one own's any of the beaches.... but we should all be guardians of what we see right and keep to rules, pm sent mark.
