Are you for real? That must be a joke.

Excuse my bad english. But I find kiting to be a very personal sport, no rules, just have fun, indipendendent sport. Just be polite and take care.

Anyway, for for me it is like that.

How do you know my style:confused: ;)

Irony and humor is hard to deal with on a forum. Lots of confusion. But that is what a good argue is about, not understanding each other.

Good to see that other than me has got this horrible desease, kiting.

LOL thats the gap at the north of stokenchurch on the M40 - funnily enough there are big open fields on either side - shame really, most of the chiltern ridge is either covered in trees, powerlines or damn motorways!!!

So Kiting is NOT an extreme sport? Well we have the Extreme Kite shop, and most kite retailers say the powerkiting is an extreme sport in their safety pages, does this mean all those places that have banned kite sports are ill informed and have actually banned something that is considered not extreme by everyone who has any kind of involvement in kite sports, and everyone who has ever witnessed kite sports taking place?

Good debate by the way.....!:D

Could be?

Unfortunatly the word "Extreme" has now become a marketing tool :( Be it from the industries, insurance companies (add 15-25% on your primiums :( ) or even the press that can sell more magazines with "extreme" pictures or newspapers hn reportig people having done extreme (read stupid) things.

Also it is now "fashionable" to do extreme sports, even if what you do is not extreme?

Unfortunatly Kiting will never be in the same league/main stream as some other "extreme sports" because of lack of access/space to do it.

Good or bad thing?

Could it beworth playing down what it is we do to the councils just to gain/keep access? If you are putting on a demo for them so they can see

A) what kiting is all about and

B) how safe/none impact on others it is,

Do you go out pulling high risk moves and charge around as fast as you can, all of which you may do in full control, but may not appear so to others? Or do you go out, trundle about in a buggy with a few spins or some nice simple low risk jumps on a board?

As sasid good topic :)

Merry Christmas evrone.

Like extreme ironing for instance? ..... they actually had a programme about it on Adventure 1 the other night, so I thought this would be good for a chuckle.... It turns out if you do your ironing outdoors that counts as extreme ironing, it's as simple as that, so perhaps the extreme tag could be added to some other sports, so that kite sports don't stand out quite as much.

TV schedules would look great:-

'Extreme Golf'

'Extreme Crown Geen Bowling'

'Extreme Tiddlywinks'

'Extreme Fly Fishing'

'Extreme Clay Shooting'

'Extreme Walking to the pub' (Walking home again has always been an extreme activity so is excluded from this)

'Extreme knitting'

And finally that hideously dangerous sport.........

'Extreme Gardening'!

:D
