martincooke Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 After a bit of info on these, as any one got one, what they like. It'll be a 2.5 we're getting. Ta Quote
hornsea flyer Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 I have the 5.5 it has very good pull but no lift. HTH HF Quote
Oceag Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 I hyave the 4.5 and 6.5. Very suprised at how good they are. I was after something with little lift but enough grunt for buggying and find them really good. My kids can fly them too which the couldnt when I was using a blade. Quote
angel2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 yeah i have the 4.5 and agree with the others great for buggying, good pull, no lift :-) Quote
Skyhooked Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 have the 3.5m pepper, gets going in some light winds for sure will be adding more of these kites to the kit bag - they make progress on wheels rather a quick process also - you can really, really use the brakes to trim the kite while it flies - sheeting the trailing edge in has quite an effect the pepper is also uncannily stable, just like its bigger brother, the rebble if looking for a safe, easy flying traction kite and you dont want lift or massive upwind ability - can not go wrong with this kite Quote
jonr1 Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 I have a 4.5 my first power kite loads of pull drags me along at 15mph and goes up in next to no wind iv'e found plenty of lift there as well loads a fun caught me out a few times as well. Quote
Pablo Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 I have the 5.5 it has very good pull but no lift. What's the min and max wind range you find for this kite for buggying or boarding, I've been looking into one for the bug, probably thinking 5.5 as well, but there's nothing around to test fly. Oh yeah, I'm 16 stone, good kiter, stable buggy. Quote
rayens Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 Pablo - as you say you are a good kiter I wouldnt bother with the Pepper This is an entry level kite that is built to a very tight budget and you can tell. I admit that they are very stable but very sluggish and control is not very positive. Far better out there I am afraid Quote
Oceag Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 I admit that they are very stable but very sluggish and control is not very positive. Sluggish and not very positive....... Think you must have flown a duff one. Mine move fast through the air and respond very quickly to control inputs. They can even spin around their axis in the power zone with a bit if brake. Quote

Far better out there I am afraid I usually fly the 3.5 in the buggy, fairly responsive kite, I'm looking for something when the wind's really lite, Also hany for Mrs Pablo to fly static. This thing would really only get used in fairly light wind. On my budget it's going to be something in the 5-7m size possibly pepper or buster. Quote
