KevT Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 I know this questions probably been asked once or twice before but i´ve got a bullet 3.5 and have been using it to attemt landboarding for a year or so, also use it for recreational aswell. Thinkin about picking up a blade and after reading a few horror stories have decided to avoid the bigger ones. Kinda torn between the 4.9 and the 6.6, does anybody have any recommendations and what sort of winds would i need to be flyin in to get decent jumps with the 4.9, I weight roughly 12 stone. Cheers for any response, Kev. Quote
Jules B. Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 i am 13 stone and i use the 4.9 blade 3. i really love this kite. i start jumping on anything 10mph + and limits are around 23mph (possibly more depending on how willing u are to hold on on the day). in my experience the power that the 6.6 generates from size is the same that the 4.9 generates from moving faster and i find the 4.9 easier to save. both great kites though but i would go for 4.9. i also have a 10.5 which is a savage!!! MM Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 Like you I started with a Bullet and to be fair I switch most of the time between 4.5 Bullet and 4.9 Blade. The 6.6 comes out when there's not as much wind - I would say however I have never felt that comfortable with it, probably due the lack of time flying it I'd say 4.9 Quote
dErZ Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 As above but the 6.6 still needs in excess of 12mph to get you going upwind and the 4.9 more so, Maybe sell your bullett and get 2 blades You cant go wrong with a blade Quote
Biff Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 12 stone? Who are you trying to kid? This guy could hula hoop through a cheerio! Ha ha. I'd have to agree dErZ and say sell the bullet mate, mine's gone now and it's blade's until surfing! Bullet great fun but just wasn't using it now got the blade. P.S. I've got a 4.0m blade II that KevT can use anytime so remember this when saying 4.9 or 6.6 in case it makes a differance! Quote
KevT Posted September 30, 2005 Author Report Posted September 30, 2005 Cheers Everyone(except Biff), Yer banter is about as funny as a broken tail bone. 4.9 was sounding good to me but is there a big difference between the 4.0 and 4.9 coz as Biff said i can use his 4.0 whenever i want. Quote
