Paul_C Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 Ahhh! but the waiting will be worth it once you do get to fly it, even though I've had and sold other kites I've still got my 7 year old pink/yellow/blue 40 skytiger, just love the 80's shell suit look:D. Not flown the 26 but if it's like the 40 it may not be the fastest kite in the sky but it will be really stable. Quote

They are great kites.... My Skytiger 26 is my favourite kite at present, it comes out when the wind gets to around 20mph and I have got my fastest ever buggy speed with it (37.9mph). It is very stable and predictable, it isnt a race kite but its predictability makes it a joy to use. Simon Quote

Whoops!) Also going to buy a winddragon buggy for the skytiger heehee, But i'm not sure if its a cobra or flexifoil because it looks like neither of them, the bag is black with a gold tiger on, and says something like "cobra design, made by flexifoil" but it doesnt look anything like the yummy turquoise flexifoil ones, anyone got any ideas why? sgillow Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 Heres a pic of my 26's colours, I think its a more modern Flexifoil version. I got it from a guy off this forum (cheers Adam) http://simongillow.mysnaps.org.uk/p6965753.html The link I posted above doesnt work here but I assume thats my works firewall for me so I hope it works for others. You'd be better off with a 1.5 LD Stunt or 1.4 Buster... IMHO the 1m Firebee is worse than a Tescos carrier bag (I like the 2m tho - fantastic kite... so it's not just a dislike of firebees ) Quote

The 1m Bee is pretty good, I have used it buggying a few times in the real windy stuff, it has enabled me to buggy in the real windy stuff, I even used it on the saturday of Wallop this year as I didnt want to be any more powered up due to volume of people. It is setup with power rings. I am not too impressed with its upwind capabilities but I am pretty sure thats due to my line setup and not the kites fault, maybe I need to lengthen the brake lines so it comes further around in the window? I did use it when I started buggying in 25mph-30mph and all the bridling ripped off but Rhombus sorted me out with a new replacement and I have never got the new one flying as well as I havent fiddled too much with line lengths, etc. Hope that helps, Simon Quote

The answer is in teh question, Cobra kiteseither designed or Co designed the tiger with Flexi and Flexi made it under licence (dont forget at the time the only Kites flexi made where the stackers) this was their first 4 liner. The 26 came in two colour schemes from memory a turquoise besed one and a burgandy and gold'ish one Look here for more info http://www.cobrakite.com/skytiger.html Quote

LD and Buster are near as dammit the same shape aint they??? Not saying they fly the same, buster is a bit more arced by the bridle while the LD's sit flatter but the canopy is ooohhh so similar. - stands by for you blind git style abuse Quote
