Hey. Ive been skimboarding for about 2 or 3 years now. Its a good upcoming sport, and its great for days when the winds not up. I actually shape skimboards myself and sell them, (only woodies because around these parts the shorebreak is tiny). Basically, woodies are made for flatland skimming, whereas foamcore boards are designed for wave riding, essentially surfing the shorebreak. If you live around Boscombe or Challaborough area then waveridings possible, but good shore breaks are generally quite few and far between here.

The main site for skimboarding in UK is: http://www.sandskater.co.uk

I know the guy who runs it, Matt. Log onto the forums there and theres a load of tips and stuff which you'll find valuable im sure. If you want more info, just pm me and i'll give u my msn or whatever.

Also if you're looking for buy a woodie i may be able to sell you one of our '05 season models cheap.

lol. Woodies CAN be used to ride waves, but its bloody hard, trust me. Ive wrapped some waves and stuff on my old woody but not much more. Like i say, theyre designed for use on flat water or perhaps getting air off waves. If its a woody your after i may have one you can buy, (i'll send it along with the guerilla if u want that too :p)

hehe.
