im just glad my sleeping bag hasnt been brought in to this.... aparently they would be better if they had feathers in them, now i dunno why that would be...

because some people like to eat the crutch out of a low flying duck!!:rofl:

Mr Miles and Mr Jason .....

I really like the pattens on the new JN's .... I reckon they look really earthy and sharp :D

With the redical trailing edge..... does this give any benifit to self launching bow style ? ie. On the beach, LE face down pull steering line to fill wing etc ...

I was also wondering if it assists turn speed .... seems the kite would almost act/feel like it had 2 sides with more of a pivot @ the center rather than a turn ? sorta like the difference between steering a foil kite on the back lines vs the front ....

im intrested to know what model your flying and how you rate the kite in all wind conitions.

Hi All,

Back to the topic!

I have a range of Prima Donna2's 9.0m, 11.0m and 13.0m as well as a Davinci 10.0m for demo. The good guys at extremekites.com.au will be testing the kites in a few weeks.

I also have a rider in WA who will be happy to demo a kite and JN are in the process of signing a young hot shot in Caloundra who will have a full range of Prima Donna2's.

There are a few guy and girls throughout Oz already flying the kites and from what I can tell, they are loving them. The new ones are amazing, both preformance and graphics. Plaus they are built super tough.

G'day Nato at the moment i'm not using a JN bar but waiting on a replacement to arrive, but I do like the Evolution. Between the new school and Evolution there isn't a huge amount of difference. Left my bar out on the bonnet of my car two weeks ago then walked back down to the beach to grab the rest of the gear and it was gone along with my sunnies. Flying on a PDII but also managed to get my hands on an old well used Wild Thing only two weeks ago.

MilesMan, where are you located in OZ?

To answer Nato's question.... the 3+1 bar is one of the best bars I've used. I do however keep one bar as standard with the quick release Alex and the power loop and the other I strip it down and change the whole safety system and power loop. This is ideal for freestyle, the last thing you want to do is get your finger caught in the power loop when passing the bar.... plus the QR Alex is pretty heavy and hurts when it hits you..... for general freeride or waves the standard 3+1 bar is spot on.

Not often you quote yourself but can any of you guys answer these ?

And when you say 3:1 .... you talking a 3:1 pulley system ... that must have a lot of throw !! I fly Naish bars with 2:1 and that seems huge when compared to 1:1

And is there a link to kite info other than a stingray ???

Hi justkitesurf,

The bar is called the CBS 3+1 as there are 3 safety systems. The QR Alex, 5th line and you can also set your leash up so when you drop the bar, the kite will depower and if it hits the water, the kite will be in the relaunch possition ready to fly. Its a great system.

With regards to the "radical trailing edge", that would be the Davinci BAT which is a light wind kite.

The BAT concept was specifically developed for the bigger sizes of the DAVINCI range. Michael Nesler and the JN Team have successfully enhanced the 12 and 15m² kites with their distinctive BAT design recognisable by the characteristic sting in its outline. These two sizes feature small battens at the tip to improve turning and give direct feedback to the bar. It has proved useful to have a specific design for medium and light wind conditions – larger kites need to have a different set of characteristics. Thanks to early planing in light wind conditions and fantastically easy upwind travel it is possible to have 100% fun even in the smallest breeze. JN exactly adjust every kite size to its corresponding wind conditions.

The DAVINCI BAT shape brings two major advantages: It gives significantly more stability and makes re-launching the kite easier and quicker.

It won't relaunch like a bow but for a C kite, they relaunch with ease.

Hope this helps.
