Out of the two I think you'll find most people will say "Blade". The good lift they provide is excellent for landboarding. Bullets are more suited to buggying.

There are plenty of kites that people will say are "better" than a Blade for boarding, but it's all about personal preference. I've tried lots of different kites, but I like the Blade 1s and 2s for boarding because they suit my style.

What experience do you have of kites?

Of the two, I'd go for blade as it has a more constant pull IMHO across the window. You need this to help you stand upright.

If I look at most boarders out there, there seems to be a move towards depoweables as they give you the ability to compensate for gusty conditions easier abnd you can boost the power when you want to get airborne.

You could look at the Flysurfer Rookies... Cheap, but built by a known company and depowerable...

Personally I hate kites that dont lift. I even use lifty kites for buggying. I just really dont have fun on non-lifty kites. Go for the blades. You will never get bored.

As the last two posts have said, it really depends on your experience and what you want to do. I started on a 3m Buster (much cheaper than either of these) which is closer to the bullet than the blade. I do find it has more lift than the bullets though, but certainly not as much as the blades. Bullets are good for going side to side without too much arm ache and the blades will be better if you want to jump higher. The blades are a little trickier to fly however, hence the how much experience question.

I have had a great time learning on my buster and it is still great in high winds. Admittidly the quality is not as good as the flexi's but it isn't bad considering the price. However I am moving on as it has got a bit tame now. I am hopeing to get a 12m Phantom which is a depowerable arc.

The new(ish) radsail pro's are supposidly not too bad although I have never flown one. They were designed by the bloke who originally designed the Blade. These aren't too badly priced and are somewhere in between the bullet and blade with regards to lift.

If I had to choose between the bullet and the blade it would have to be the blade based on my 2yrs experience with my buster. I now want more lift and this is something the bullet cannot offer. However, given the choice of all the kites out there I would probably (and indeed am not) go for a blade.

Hope this has helped a bit

Second hand Guerilla 2 13 meters. They are going cheap you might get one for a similar price to a new blade. Much nicer for jumping, nice for cruising, nice nice nice nice. and you can take them on the water!

I agree with whats already been said. My favourite boarding kite is my 6.6m Blade.
:D Horses for courses, at BRS last weekend didn't see any Bullets and nearly all buggys had blades, one thing you see straight away is the speed they fly, they turn very quickly;)most popular kite was the 6.6m blade

blade all the way dude i would say get the 6.6 and just be carefull with it to start off.

I would be supprised if you did see a bullet dude as far as i know all of the buggiers there were buggy jumpers and the blade is defo leading the way in that deparment atm.

Huh  6.6 when you don't know what his skill level is

Hang on.. save on the kite.. just get yourself a Bowie knife and kill yourself that way.. It's cheaper..

Don't go any bigger than 4m for your first kite..

After getting spanked a fair few times by my blade, i now love depowerable kites. The way ahead IMHO, though i understand they are expenisve/ intimidating. Glad i made the plung though.
