Yes and No, the Tempest is a bit cheap/nasty, I think its the cheapest board that MBS make for adults (correct me if I'm wrong), IMHO I think that something like a silver reef is much better for beginners and in the same sort of price range. You could also go for a TRAMPA deck with scrub hardware for a little bit more money.

if your after a board give wentworth action sports a call or get hold of phil aka kitedeck pimp. i was in there to day and see they have a big board sale inc Trampa set ups and i think there was a GI going cheap too
