paulie_amoose Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Hello Guys, I'm going to Valmeinier 1800 in Jan and am considering taking my blade. NE1 know anything about this resort in terms of snowkiting. I cant find any info at all. Looking at the piste map it dont look too friendly. Any advice, Is it worth packin the kite? Cheers Quote
Fat Bloke Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Hi ! I've skied most of the area around Valmin and Valloire: can't think of anywhere suitable off the top of my head. You could try mailing the tourist info out there direct, or get the tour company to do the leg work ( if it's Snowcoach they're normally pretty could at finding out stuff for you) Remember there are loads of other small resorts within range of Valmin - might be worth checking them? Also check with the paraglide schools - seem to remember there being at least 2 locally? (or was that Valcenis - loose track at my age:o ) Quote
jon barrand Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 The Val's don't really have any flat areas, the hotels are at the base of the runs and it is all pretty much immediately steep. Probably not the best place to snow kite, but hey, anythings worth a go, there may be somewhere. When your boarding, your not usually looking for flat bits, just steep bits!!! Hope my ranting is of some use Doubtfull:) Quote
paulie_amoose Posted November 15, 2004 Author Report Posted November 15, 2004 Cheers for the responses guys even though they weren't positive. I think I'll still pack a kite. Here's hoping that god packs some snow!!!!!!! Cheers again:D Quote
