Neil aka KC Posted October 24, 2004 Author Report Posted October 24, 2004 perhaps putting some bigger racing tyres like the ones on the Kite deck quadraltion (sp?) btw did you have any speed wobbles? Yeah i think bigger ones would of done the trick to be honest.... or some more wind, lol.... RE-Speedwobbles, was asked that when i finnished... didnt have any at all.. and did a good run couple of times from one end of black rock to the other... That was using my MBS and 12m Quote
stueyboy Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 over 30mph must be quite a ride !! I have a speedo on mine and have been over 20mph on occasion and it feels V quick. Were you on a beach or grass? Quote

Were you on a beach or grass? Yeah it feels like your going a lot faster than what you are... bit of a buz though... was on a beach... raining a bit aswell at the time... Quote

cocacumpy Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 managed 27 mph, no speed wobble at all riding a series 2 flexdeck although that was on crappy surface were i mainly fly all the time! (bumpy) wanted to try and break the 30mph zone at the x-games but only went up on the sunday and covered 0.5 of a mile before my speedo stopped working-damm thing! then i blew a bearing so wasnt at all happy! how accurate do you think a speedo is?..... say i was doing 30mph what do you think my real speed would be? Quote
Neil aka KC Posted October 24, 2004 Author Report Posted October 24, 2004 how accurate do you think a speedo is?..... say i was doing 30mph what do you think my real speed would be? was talking about this on the way home... as for example if the surface area of the wheel you have to program in is out by just a little bit, i would think that would make a massive difference... as the wheel would be spinning hundreds/thousands of times... making it out by quite a bit... over all... The other thing we was saying is the wheels would be sliding quite a bit.. few different things there i would say to account for.... think other than a car or gps is the best best if you really want an accurate reading... Nomix Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Think you'd have to be looking at + or - 10% to be honest and I'm not:D Quote
Tone Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 have had over 30 on my old airdeck.. want to get 40 soon though. Quote
Spike J Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 Thats a good speed, that beats Butches 34.2mph that we clocked him at with a gps, but I have been told that he has been clocked at 39mph on a Kitedeck Quadrolution, someone will break the 40mph soon Keep it up, but be safe Quote
garykf Posted October 25, 2004 Report Posted October 25, 2004 40mph is definately the benchmark. Have done a 35 myself and saw Neil set his speed yesterday. To be fair the beach wasnt in the best of shape for a speed run as there were loads of damp patches, sure you,d have gone faster on a nice dry day mate:) Quote
Woody1599968629 Posted October 25, 2004 Report Posted October 25, 2004 lol, he almost took out the whole group of us, "out of control" lol. You could have got your Panty 18m out. lol Good day though guys! Good to meet up with new people. Quote
buggy nut Posted October 25, 2004 Report Posted October 25, 2004 got up to just over 30 mph. was using a 4m blade 2 going down hill alongside the road up beachy head, with my dad going in the car to measure the speed! (had to tighten the trucks up and keep low to stop the wobbles) Quote
jeffsnox Posted October 25, 2004 Report Posted October 25, 2004 Congrats on that run Neil! You were really flying!! When do we get to see the pic of you with the GPS taped to your wrist, showing the max speed? Quote
Foilman Posted October 25, 2004 Report Posted October 25, 2004 58.9mph yesterday - towed behind a car, on the Dirtsurfer Flexi:eek: - Thats clocked on a calibrated speedo... Wicked vids taken by me, as I rode!- but they're on 8mm & I don't have a framerabber card - yet... With a kite, done 30Mph on the 4.9 Blade, then ran out of field... FM Quote
air stiffler Posted October 25, 2004 Report Posted October 25, 2004 managed to get about 30mph on my airdeck with a bego 600 totally flying and lovin it then i hit a load of soft sand result board and myself cart wheeling down the beach best wipe out i've ever had hurt like hell and funny as Quote
