Neptune Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 So that the side of the kite that is turning on the inside is slowed slightly. Imagine doing a right turn. You want the right side of the kite to fly slightly slower to allow the left side to over fly it - thus achieving a turn in the kite to the right. Quote
kingvalle Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Does the Sam-Bar turn with that system or is it an other line-setup than the flexi-bar? I'm intersted, because I want to fly with a Bar, but don't like slow turning... Kingvalle Quote
mickjones Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 neptune thanks for the reply about the pully bar - i know what you mean now, i wondered if you were somehow using one of the new style pulley bars that fly LEI's today at the local beach wind was about 20knots onshore, with huge flat sections of water. i had my best session yet - on a blade 4m! it was very fast through the air and helped me get a lot of speed up such an easy kite to fly that 4m blade, i cant wait till tomorrow but i think the wind could be a bit lighter, so back on the 6.6 i reckon. woohoo! i have been four times now and find that becuase the blade is so simple to use i'm learning each time i go out. well i fly down at watergate so if any other balde users want to come and fly i'll see you there Quote
Neptune Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 No problem Mick. Glad to hear that it helped. Not easy to explain in words - very simple idea when you see it - even better that the pulley is surrounded by a neoprene cover to keep the sand out! Also good that Flexi give an emergency pull release on the main harness loop. Quote
nakster Posted December 18, 2004 Report Posted December 18, 2004 Or your names Clive and you can get going on your super powerful Ozone Frenzy in sub 10mph wind NOT Ha Ha Ha Quote
rsillsley Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Loads of people use them here in Tarifa in light winds / gusty conditions. One kite school (from Marbella - where wind is light, no waves and the girls are minging) comes here now and then and only use foils. I think its a German thing. Quote
justin1599968620 Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 I'm back on the Blades, initially because there are certainly the most fun i've had on water with a kite(and i've spent silly amounts of money on every kite there is:eek: ). But certainly this the most important reason, "just to annoy the local Lei bigots in my area". I've never met such two faced twats in my life, there's a lot of people that i really like but some individuals have such a hardon for themselves it's not real. Foils rock.. Closed and open. Quote
