Oldnbold Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 I have been flying my blade III 4.0 with a bar up until now , today i have changed it to handles .... the brake lines are set up correctly but i have had problems with the bridle lines and wing tips catching up and flapping , is this normal ? I never seemed to have this problem when flying with a bar . The wind was gusty so maybe this has something to do with it . Quote
daZZa-S Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 i think it may be because it was gusty. May be its because you are not used to handles? notice that you have a LEI and that uses a bar so my idea would be you have not used handles all that often? If so try using a strop for a while across your handles, also are your lines twisted?? if one line has some twist then it can alter the flight of the kite, I have noticed this before with my blade. Just make sure theres no twist by walking your lines with them runing through your fingers to get the twist out. If you think about when the lines are under tension there will be side ways tension in the line as well which will in turn travel up to the kite and twist the bridle and could cause the kite to do somethin odd. Oldnbold Posted September 1, 2004 Author Report Posted September 1, 2004 OK thanks , i am planning to take the kite out again this week if the wind picks up so hopefully will find out the problem , the lines where twisted on a couple of occasions and the wind was very gusty , so it could have been a combination of the two .
