Jam Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 I would really like to kiteboard, I am 11yrs old but I am 136cm big and I am quite light. Is there anyone who can give me some advice on starting, or do I have to wait until I'm a bit bigger! Quote
the_lone_wolf Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 i would say yes you could, but unless you have an exceptionally skilled parent who is willing to help you learn i doubt you'll find a school that has insurance to teach someone so young - failing that get a parent to take you to the local kitesurfing spot and find someone kind enough to offer advice and supervise you. judging by your sig you have some exeprience with kites and it will be a step but not too bad to start. good luck and... DON'T TRY AND GO IT ALONE:) Quote
jelly man Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 go for it mate if you start young u will rock in a few years time try some schools tho i think that as LW said ull find it hard to find one thatll teach you at such a young age how much do you weigh Quote
bushflyer Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 youngest kiteboarder ive seen was 9 or 10 (www.flysurf.com , news section) so why not. Quote
kitesurfa Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 youngest kiteboarder ive seen was 9 or 10 (www.flysurf.com , news section) so why not.One of the latest DVD's has a 10 year old surfing... so why notindeed, as long as they have proper insurance, are under parental supervision and will be held responsible for their actions, then there should be no problems. monkey poo Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 im 144 and im thinking of getting a water kite but i want to try it first Quote
Redmini Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 i started when I was 12. to learn me and all my mates I kite with all went out on one board and one kite and we all used it. This is a gud way of practising cos if anyfin goes wrong you´ve got ppl with you 2 help. I learnt on a 3.5 bullet and a 145 board so your 3m blade should get you started. Quote
