Hosey Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 learning to jump (with kite and board) i managed to land the first 5 attempts backwards came off the board and landed on my ass.... thats 5 times in a row. i had to stand at my desk for a week. bruised ass-bone! Quote
cocacumpy Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Fcuking great grazes/grass burns down my lower back and leg! other than that been alright:) (touch wood) Quote
daznsaz Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 felt a bit overpowered so jumped off the board, the board carried on rolling straight into the back of my Blo**y ankle. Doesn't sound a lot but 7kg at 10mph hurts. Quote
bushflyer Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 ive hurt myself quite a few times, but most of that was in the early days. guess the worst was getting lofted with one of my nuts under my harness leg strap... man that sucked:( it returned to its original shape approx 3 days later by the way Quote

Sly Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 managed to get pulled over the rocks on westward Ho! total my fault was flying a 9.5 frenzy and I have only just started to use de-power kites. I now know that when you fall off the board NOT to pull the bar towards you but to let go damage. Knocked out. two cracked ribs. three dislocated fingers. bruised ass-bone. (bruise was size of dinner plate) chipped Knee-cap. twisted ankle. LOADS of cuts apart from that one just the usual. Quote
Tim186 Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 while going along i have got my left foot stuck in the binding while my other was out and my legs have crossed and i sprained my ankle quite badly not to mention all the rolling sh*t me up a bit Quote
barron Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 The second time i went on my board i was flying 4.5 bullet got hit by a big gust got flung up in the air about 6 foot landed on my stomach got dragged head first in to a tree stump ended up in hospital stitches in my chin, smashed ribs and shoulder, knackered wrists. CHEER Leigh.. Quote
Plugus Maximus Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 Accident 1: Slipped and stacked it toe side. Body dragged across a rugby pitch with no T-Shirt on in the height of summer ..... i.e. the churned mud was all crusty. Result? One graze reaching from one nipple to the other down to my belly button. Accident 2. High speed stack after major speed wobble at Saunton wearing only board shorts. Result? No skin left on elbows, knees and hips. Flinking blip did it sting when I went in the sea after ! K Quote

schmik1599968584 Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 All of my bad ones have been static flying: Broken ankle (blade 7.8 wanted to jump higher than i did - copped a side gust and landed sideways) twisted knee (managed a 4 foot high, 10 feet long jump witht a 2.1 little devil - it was gusting upto 35 knots...... yess it was a stoooopid thing to do, i couldn't walk on it for a week) On the board: badly bruised shoulder and lost the skin between the elbow pad and the wrist (stacked at top speed in gravel it was winter so i was wearing ATB trousers and didn't loose skin off the legs ) lost the skin on leg from below the knee pad to the ankle. The graze was so deep that it took 6 weeks to heal. (Got pulled off the board by a gust and then dragged 30 meters on very very dry grass, there is a drought here... what's rain ?) schmik Quote
Howard Marks Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 Broke my foot landing with one in and one foot out. I heard the snap as my foot twisted against the post. (f3's help guard against this) Quote
commander Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 ive never really hurt myself but have made a fool of myself my mate had his 4m blade out at the beach and it pulled the stake out and started to go down the beach a bit so me thinking i was smart put my foot through the lines and caught the handles on the brakes. bad idea the kite reversed launched straight into the power and i was decked instantly another was when i was sorting his bridle his kite launched and made a nice zipping noise straight up my arm ouch!!
